I was down for a few days. The love of my life is straight, I have no friends, and well because of money problems, I might not get to go to Georgia. Other things had my attention too, but not like those. I had to accept it; even if I wanted to or not.
It was 8th period and the fifjre drill went off. I walked with my friend Kevin. He knew that I liked Denis, but I only told him once. "It's so cold out here." I told him when we got into the grass field. "I know." I looked around and happened to notice Denis. "Hey, Kevin, there goes Denis." "Where? I don't see him." "The guy over there in the baby blue." "I still don't see him...wait...the one right there?" He pointed at him. "Yeah." "Hmmm." I continued to look at him until he caught on and he walked over to me. It was gonna be awkward talking to him considering what happened 3 days ago. "Hey." He said sweetly. "Hey...it's pretty cold out here huh?" I responded. Following that, I heard someone clear their throat and mumble "Mmm..." I took a quick glance at Kevin. He smiled. "Anyway, what are you doing today?" "Nothing, look at this." He pulled out his phone and showed me a car. "It's my car." "You have a car now? You didn't tell me. Lucky." "Yeah." The school bell rung and people started going back into the school. We walked in together. "What class are you in right now?" I asked. "Builiding and Construction, you?" "Science. Hey, let's text. What's your number?" He fidgeted and by the sound of his voice, he was planning an excuse. "I....I....don't even know my number." After that I just walked away to my class. "I'm such a dumbfuck. I hate myself." I whispered to myself as I walked in. "About time you came back." Kevin told me. "Yeah...I was with Denis." "Mhmm." "The other day I....we argued about um...chess." "Chess...oh..OH...okay." "Yeah and I told him, 'You like chess more than basketball. So you should....just admit it.' and I admitted to him my love for chess and how..well..he should like chess too. Then he strongly expressed his love for basketball and I just accepted it." "Wow...um...so he really doesn't like chess, do he?" "Me neither." The girl next to us said. I looked at Kevin and he shrugged.
