So here it is, Sunday night, and still no reply from Denis. I guess I offended him or maybe he didn't check his Facebook yet. There was no way of telling.

I was preparing my stuff for school tomorrow and my phone dinged. I checked it and surprising it was Denis. "Meet me tomorrow at 4 o'clock on the east side of Central." Before I could type back, he logged off. A strong feeling stirred in me. "Let's see, tomorrow's Monday. I can go to chess club for an hour and then meet with him.

After a good sleep, I was ready for today. I was still curious about Denis but hey, surprises are good, right?

Time seemed to race me through the day and when 2:45pm hit, I went to my locker, grabbed my stuff and headed to chess club. I actually hated chess but it was a real time consumer. 4:00pm hit before I knew it and I left the school in search for Denis. I peeped around the corner and seen no one. I went to the other side and still no Denis. "Over here." I heard a sound from the side I started with. "Denis?" I looked and it was him.

"Hey, so what did you wa-" "What do you want from me?!" "Wha..? What do you mean?" "The message you sent to me on Facebook. What are you planning? Why won't you stop? What do you want from me?" I could see he was angry and for a while anger raged in me. "What I want? I want a fucking friend. You don't give a shit about nothing." I walked up to him pulling my fists up. "I actually hate you. I don't see why I'm so wrapped around your finger. You're just nothing but homophobia. I should beat the fuck out of you." "You won't do it." I got closer and was literally close. "Yeah, you won't do it. Do it..." I gritted my teeth and still had my fists up. He was right. I wouldn't do it, but I wanted to change my own destiny and feelings. I slowly descended my fists and just looked at him. "What happened the summer after freshman year? Huh?" "Nothing happe-" "Did you go to a Straight camp?" His voice was hesitant to answer. "No, I've always been straight. Why do you continue to thin-" "Did they force you to go?" "Why are-" "Did they hurt you?" He yelled at me, "LEAVE ME ALONE!" I yelled louder. "DID THEY HURT YOU?!?" "YESSS!" He tried to run away but I grabbed his arm. "Denis..." He stopped and suddenly, he burst into tears. I dropped everything I had and hugged him as tight as I could. "Yo-ou....just don't understand!" He cried harder, burying his head into my chest. For a moment, my heart ached along with his. I whispered to him, "It's been hard for you, hasn't it? They forced you, didn't they? Pain rushed through your body." His voice was shaky. "Y-y-ess.." I could feel my shirt getting soaked. "I was just so...scared.Jay....so scared. I've been told all my l-life th-that God's a vengeful God and that I'm suppose to l-like women and when they put me in that place, I didn't kn-" I interrupted him. "Say no more Denis." I took out a tissue that I had in my pocket and wiped his eyes and his cheeks. "It's all okay now, you have me." I slowly leaned in and kissed him passionately. At first I felt him resist it but soon, he gave in and kissed me harder. I finally achieved what I longed fought for. It was a bumpy road but I finally made it.

I felt water drip on my head. I stopped for a while and looked up. "It's....about to rain, Denis. What're we going to do?" "Well, we can't go to my house and I was suppose to be at work so..." So?" "So can we go to the movies, out to eat, and then for a stroll around the mall?" I giggled. "As much as I would love to, I'm broke." "Don't worry about that." He pulled out his wallet and said, "I got that taken care of." I smiled and he smiled and we kissed again. Suddenly, thunder struck and I said, "Hehe, I guess that's God's way of saying 'We better get going before we get caught in the rain'." He agreed and we walked off. "Hey, Denis, to be on the safe side, let's not hold hands until we get inside the movie theater, okay?" "I was thinking the same thing." "Oh and Denis?" "Yeah?"

"I love you."
