Mortality is such a burden.
How can I search the corners of the universe
When I am more than aware it would take more than my lifespan?How can I search the deep waters to uncover the secret cities,
And the mermaids eyes,
When I am aware I can barely hold my breath?To wander the world
And travel to towns with names
That break on my tongue;
To follow the butterflies wings
And find the marvelous meadows
Where queens and goddesses spent their years;
How can I find the veil between worlds knowing my soul is tied to one?How can I will myself to speak words that cannot be taken back
As if my voice didn't sound like a rattling, rusted, fence on the brink of collapse.
Forever is unachievable but today is so real I hold onto it tightly.How can a mortal promise the vows of gods to move the sea and wait forever for a glance at perfection?

Death is a promise
But you are a deamPerhaps the beauty of mortality is knowing that everything is unachievable,
But everything with you is enough.The corners and depths and all the mysteries of the universe
Would not compare to exploring with you for a moment.Mortality is such an inconvenience, truly,
But I don't mind being mortal with you.
