Blair

There were many of us surrounded in the living room waiting for further instructions from Rick but we recently got even worse news. Deanna got bit. She's going to die no matter what but we all started to say our goodbyes to her. Deanna had done a lot for the community and especially for me. "Blair." I heard a voice and I looked up to see Daryl. I stared at him for a second as me and Carl were sitting on the couch. We both looked up and Daryl motioned for me to say bye to Deanna.

I nodded and sighed. Before I could stand up, Carl grabbed my hand and I stared at him. "It's gonna be okay." He whispered to me and I nodded. "Yeah, yeah. I know." I answered him and he nodded. He let go of my hand slowly and I followed Daryl through into the room where Deanna was laying. I walked in and immediately saw her lying on the bed. Sweat pouring off of her forehead and eyes closed.

"How long?" I asked Rick as he sat beside her on the bed. He looked over at her for a second and sighed. "Not long. Maybe twenty minutes, if that." He answered me and I nodded. Rick was holding onto her hand, making sure she dies being loved and cared for. I walked over to her and grabbed her hand gently. "Hey." I whispered to her and she slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes were droopy and watery.

She looked beside her and saw me standing above her. "You're here." She said weakly. She looked so vulnerable it actually hurt me. I didn't want to cry though. I knew Deanna was going to die being loved and remembered for keeping this place on it's walls for a while, ever though this might be the last time. "Yeah, I am." I answered her and she smiled slightly, just before coughing.

"Shhh." Rick whispered, making sure she's calmed down and okay. "I-I didn't get to tell you Blair." She said and I felt my eyes water. Please. God. I'm so sick of crying today. "Tell me what?" I asked her and she smiled once again. "You're strong... You're brave and beautiful and young... You keep that up." She said and I let out a few laughs as tears fell down my face. "Of course I will Deanna, just for you." I smiled at her as I rubbed my thumb over her hand.

"Keep smiling Blair. We need you here." She smiled and looked over to me. "You are strong and you WILL... Beat this world." She said and let her eyes close so she can rest them. I listened to her words and I didn't know if I believed them but I tried to, just for her. "I will try." I said to her and she nodded weakly. "Rick..." She spoke up and Rick reacted to her, listening immediately.

"Yeah?" He answered and Deanna spoke up again. "Leave me here. You all need to make it out. You all will, make it out. Please." She pleaded and Rick hesitated by looking up at Daryl. Daryl nodded as he stood in the corner of the room. "O-Okay." Rick answered and my heart shattered. I knew Deanna wouldn't make it but I hated how she wanted to die quicker due to the pain she already was in.

Rick bent over and kissed her head. I laid her hand back on the bed and wiped my tears quickly before walking out the room. I couldn't watch Deanna take her last breath, it would kill me. I was slowly followed by Rick and Daryl. I walked into the living room and saw Carl still sitting on the couch by himself. Of course he was so angry at the whole Ron situation, I don't think he wanted to speak to anyone.

I walked over and took a seat beside him. I stared at him as he looked up at me. "You okay?" He asked me and I nodded smiling at him. "Yeah, I'm fine." I answered him and he smiled back slightly. "Good." He said and laid his large hand on my cheek. He pulled me in for a gentle kiss but not too much of a kiss because we were surrounded by family members. "As you all know... Deanna isn't going to make it but... She was a great leader. Obviously we'll all remember her. But we've found a way out of here." Rick spoke up as Carl had a grip on my hand.
