Song of the chapter - Hold on by Chord Overstreet

Blair

"How was your night?" I asked Maggie as she dug into her cereal. I took a seat on the stool and Glenn chuckled. "It was really good, actually." Maggie admitted and I nodded, as I grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl in the middle of the table. "I was surprised I didn't see you there." Maggie said and I looked up at her.

I wasn't, Maggie. I would of never gone to that party if my life depended on it. "Yeah well, it's not for me." I smiled at Maggie and she nodded, understanding that some parties are just not for some people. "I was also surprised that Carl didn't show up either but Ron, Mikey AND Enid did too. Rick said he was with you." Maggie smiled and I shook my head.

"Before you say anything, we're just friends." I said and Glenn chuckled slightly, staring at me and Maggie. I knew no one believed me, no matter how much I said it but after last night I'm starting to not believe myself either. I knew deep inside I wanted Carl to be more to me but something else said no. He only kissed Enid yesterday. He needs to make up his god damn mind.

"Blair-" "No Maggie. Please. The amount of people who has said we are more than friends, is pretty annoying already." I nervously chuckled, while shifting in my seat. Maggie was quiet for a moment before speaking up again. "Okay but when you and Carl DO get together, you tell me." Maggie winked at me and I laughed as I took a bite of my apple.

"And you can come to me about sex. with him." Glenn spoke up and immediately earned himself a slap on the arm by Maggie. "WHAT!" Glenn exclaimed and Maggie rolled her eyes at him. "No offense, but I think Carl would go to his dad about that and I would go to Maggie. It's a kinda man to man and woman to woman, sorta thing." I explained and Glenn nodded, understanding. "But don't worry Glenn, I'll come to you AND Daryl about my problems." I admitted and he nodded.

"Good." He spoke and set his empty glass on the work top, beside the sink. "Right well I need to go talk to Deanna about stuff, I'll see you ladies later." Glenn smiled and gave Maggie a quick kiss, then walking out of the house. "What're your plans for today?" I asked Maggie and she shrugged slightly. "I might clear outside the walls, if you wanna join." She asked me and I nodded.

I guess I needed to get away from the whole situation with Enid and Carl and get back to what's really going on in the world. I haven't had a chance to practice for a while. "Yeah, Let's go." Maggie said and I followed her outside. Outside is was quite warm today but I couldn't help but hear the growls of the dead. The streets of Alexandria were very loud and happy today, I don't know why but I guess it isn't a bad thing.

As me and Maggie walked beside each other she would say hi or hello to every person she knew. Maggie was nice like that, she didn't care who you were but she would say hello to you. While me and Maggie were walking I saw Ron, Enid and Carl in a little triangle together. I couldn't help but feel hurt or jealous. But it was okay. I was okay.

"Hey Rick." Maggie greeted him and he turned around seeing me standing beside her. "Hey guys. Clearing outside today?" Rick asked me and I nodded. "Yeah, nothing much else better to do." I admitted and he nodded, looking around the community. "Anyway, I'll see you two later. I need to go speak to Pete." He said and I frowned slightly. "Pete?" Maggie questioned and I guessed she's as confused as I am.

Rick sighed and he looked very upset about something. "Jesse has bruises and everyone thinks they are from Pete." Rick said and I looked at Maggie. Jesse is Ron's mom and she's getting hit. By Pete? Is that Jesse's husband? "Do you think she is?" Maggie asked Rick and he hesitated to answer her question. "I've seen Pete drunk too many times and... Yeah, I think so." He poured out and Maggie nodded.
