This chapter goes out to my grandma XD she loves Dr Pol and she gave me some good ideas.

It took a while to get to the vet but at least we found it. The alpaca was asleep on my lap as I pet him and said softly to myself, "We're here," with that he wakes up a little. I hold the alpaca and go into the vet office. A few minutes later they called us and we go to a room. The vet office wasn't crowded which was a good thing. We got to see Dr. Pyke right away, the veteran. He was really good and seemed to know what to do instantly. He put warm blankets on the alpaca and gave him some kind of warm liquids through an iv and did some blood work too. The pink alpaca definitely didn't like the needle but he dealt with it anyway. Luckily the alpaca didn't have a fever, but I was prescribed some medication for him just to make sure he doesn't get sick again. He also got a little haircut from his gross wet locks of mane to silky and smooth. "He looks to be doing a lot better now! Also I'll call you in about a week to inform you about his blood work," Dr Pyke announced and then asked if I wanted to see if he was chipped and I nodded. I would like to know if the alpaca had a past owner or not. The vision of the poor shaking pink creature popped back into my head and slight tears formed in my eyes. I want to know who this bastard is who left this poor little babe to die; I'd really love to show them how I feel about that!
We checked and nothing was noted on who might be the alpaca's owner. "You know sense you found him I'd usually have to put him in a shelter for at least 2-3 days to see if his owners come to get him right?" The vet asked. I sighed not wanting to give him up so easily. "You know what.. I'll make a deal with you." I raised an eyebrow when Dr Pyke started to speak, "What is that?" Dr Pyke smiled a little and continued clearly seeing I'm intrigued by his offer, "as long as you take care of this little guy I'll let you adopt him without all the extra work. You seem to really care about him so it's only fair!" Pyke said and I eagerly agreed, "Yes sir! I can't thank you enough!" The little alpaca jumped up and down happy as though he understood what was going on.
I filled out the pet adoption pamphlet but skipped one part. "What should I name him?" I wondered. My roommate Braun stayed in the car so I couldn't ask him. The alpaca looked up at me and a name suddenly popped in my mind almost seeming to be telepathically, Jeffrey. 'Jeffrey' I wrote on the paper and smiled.
We went back to the apartment after grabbing some food Jeffrey might like and a few other things such as a collar, food bowl, water bowl, and bed. Before I knew it, I ended up passed out on the couch, and Jeffrey crawled up and cuddled with me underneath my arm.
