I'm back! Well kinda.. sorry for the wait!

I decided to go on one of my normal walks while Jeffrey stayed home to do whatever he wanted, for about an hour. His typical thing he like to to while I'm out is of course clean the whole house except Braun's room, which no one is allowed in there.

I walked my normal path and enjoying the view of the few small shops that where open on this particularly sunny day.
I always bring a small backpack/satchel with me when I take my walks and always bring a med kit in case something bad where to happen, and more recently I've been bringing an umbrella, a few snacks cause why not, portable charger, phone, and of course water.
In this particular day I decided to visit one of the open coffee shops for no apparent reason. I always pass them and so I guess curiosity got the better of me. When I got inside, I got hit with a wave of cool air and the delicious smell of freshly brewed coffee. I sat down at one of the tables and I'm not sure why but I ended up bringing a notepad and a pencil along today. I tried practicing my poems but I had no luck due to disinterest. I decided just to sketch some of the things I saw, outside and inside. One of the staff came over to me and asked if I wanted to order anything, the man that asked had beautiful green eyes and dark hair along with a few small piercings on his ears. "Um sure," I quickly looked at the menu, "I'll take a iced mocha, please." He nodded and I pulled my wallet out to pay him, "Hey don't worry about it, it's on the house." He said with a smile. "You sure?" I asked hesitating, but he nodded again and walked off. I'm a bit confused of why he did that but uhm okay than.
A few minutes pass and he came over, with two drinks I hand, out of uniform too. "Here you are," he said sitting the drink in front of me. "Thanks," I said with a smile. "Mind if I sit?" He asked and I was a little confused but didn't refuse, he pretty much game me a free coffee so why not. He sat down and introduced himself, "I'm Adrian and sorry my shift was about over.." I smile and introduce myself as well, "I'm Bruce, and what's to be sorry about?" Adrian smiled, "We, as in me and a few friends that work here, have this condition that the last customer  gets served at the end of our shift,if they're new, get whatever they want free." I smile now knowing the reason for this sudden kind gesture, "That's cool, but is there any reason you decided to sit with me?" I asked raising an eyebrow. I could tell Adrian's ears started to turn red, "I-I just thought sense you'd probably like to have some kind of explanation..." I giggled, "That's reasonable. So what made you wanna work in the outskirts of town such as over here?" I asked kinda curious. Adrian seemed quite for a moment in thought, "I think all the other places are stupidly high priced, too crowded, and that and I don't live entirely far from here." He said playing with a necklace he had on. "Oh nice, I literally live like two miles from hear where it isn't even a town anymore, more like an ghost town in one of the apartment complexes." Adrian sounded kinda interested, "Really, you mean just south of here? I live somewhere over there too!" I was surprised, "Really?! I thought everyone left ages ago!" Adrian giggled, "Nah there's still a few of us that still live there such as me my little sister who lives with me, my friends, and a few other people." I was impressed I couldn't lie, "Hehe I guess I need to get out more then!" With that Adrian laughed.
We continued to talk for a while, found common interest, a small amount of disinterested, and talked about hobbies.
By the time I realized it, it was getting late into the morning, and I completely forgot that Jeffrey was probably starting to worry. I explained to him the best I could with my situation and he understood. We parted ways and I waved to Adrian and said I'll see if I can come by again tomorrow.
As soon as Adrian left eyesight, my phone began to ring. I took it out of my pocket and saw that it was the apartment house phone calling me, probably Jeffrey. I answered, "Hello?" A worried soft voice then spoke, "Uhm hi can I speak to Bruce?" I giggled, he still doesn't really get the concept of phone's very well, "Yes Jeffrey what is it?" I said trying not to laugh. "Oh um hi, are you okay? You've been out for a while and I began to worry. You are coming home right?!" Jeffrey said, his voice shaking like he might cry. "Of corse I'm coming home. I just got a little side tracked sorry bud,  I'll probably be home in about," I looked at my watch, "half an hour." Jeffrey still has a hard time understanding the phrases 'half an hour, half past, quarter till, and quarter past' "How lo- oh wait... uhm so would that be... 30 minutes?" He asked trying to comprehend. I smile to myself, "Yup! See you then," I said and we both said goodbye and hung up. I tried to hurry home to the best of my abilities.

When I got home, Jeffrey was waiting on the couch for me. As soon as the door opened he ran over and hugged me.
Note to self: don't EVER leave Jeffrey for more than an hour or he gets scared and stressed out.
I hugged him back and apologized, "I'm sorry Jeffrey I'll try to warn you next time I'm going to be late or if I got sidetracked!" Jeffrey said nothing but continued to hug me. I feel terrible. "How can ever I make it up to you bud?" I asked feeling really bad. Jeffrey's face lit up as if he had an idea in mind of how I could apologize. I tilted my head, "Got an idea?" Jeffrey nodded, "Yeah but I don't know if you'll let me..." I'm confused, "What is it?" Silence "..." "...." "............" he suddenly blurted out, "Please let me cook!" I nearly jump at his suddenness, "I think you have it backwards.. usually I'd be the one to cook.." Jeffrey pleaded, "You always cook and to be honest it's not the best I've ever tasted, but please I love cooking and I want to start cooking form now on, please!!!" I look at him kinda hurt.. he doesn't like my cooking... at least Jeffrey cooks good food so why not. I sigh, "Okay fine under two conditions!" Jeffrey squeaks, "Anything!" I smile, "Okay one! Stop sleeping on the floor! And two... don't call my cooking bad.. I at least try.." a tear or two drop from my eye. Jeffrey hugs me as a way of apologizing, "Sorry! It won't happen again!" I smile and hug Jeffrey back.
