What kind of relation was that? Mornings were a strange silent, breakfast was sharing a room with a stranger, lunch was like a picnic with throwing sarcastic remarks at each other in playful manner, snacks were his absence, dinner was a wild argument where we were at each other's throat, nights were filled with fucking each other and bed was for me whereas couch for his vampire self.
It was only that one night in all these ages where I was lucky enough to hear his laughter which acted like a lullaby to me. That was the only night when we didn't have sex since we steped in this room, that was the only night I still thoight of him and found myself smiling, that was probably the only night which was once in a forever time period, because I didn't know if it would ever come again and if it did possibly after 2000 years later.
"You should laugh more" we were in the middle of lunch when I suddenly spoke out of nowhere still thinking about that night. He was sitting across wearing a stolen hoody and a pair of jeans which made him look like he was a normal guy and not a criminal. It was then I noticed how these casual clothes suited him best. He seemed younger.
The fork froze in mid air just before entering his mouth as it laid hung open now. His eyes drifted to me at my sudden suggestion.
I thought he was about to throw a sarcastic comment in my way but all I got was a look and he continued to eat his lunch totally ignoring me.
Well, if that was what he wanted then I had a much better question for him to- grill him up, annoy him, know him a little more, bla bla.
"What's your age?"
This time I didn't have to look up to see his reaction which was the replica of the previous one. I just continued to eat my lunch. What was the worry? He wasn't going to kill me anymore, he could try hurting me but I was in a hotel now where he cannot lock the door for me and I could run away whenever I wanted to. Something, I wouldn't do again anyway. When he didn't move, I looked up casually giving him a fake smile; I raised my eyebrows for him to answer.
His mouth closed as he kept his fork back in the plate and leaned forward a little on the table where he sat opposite to me.
"Why is my age relevant to you in anyway?" He sentence was hinting amusement in it. Perfect!
I kept my fork in a similar manner and leaned forward copying him. "What's wrong in sharing your birthday date? Afraid?" I teased, wiggling my eyebrows "I might give you a happy birthday surprise?" My grin widened earning me a look from him and his lips stayed sealed tightly but his eyes narrowed.
Something was off about him, since the moment he came back for lunch he has been avoiding my eyes, ignoring me was one thing that he did always purposely but today, he was avoiding eye contact up until now when we sat in front of each other to have lunch like we were doing for past six days.
Ignoring him, my eyes averted back to the most important thing I have having decently these days, my lunch which I resumed eating-
"24"
My eyes widened.
Shit.
He replied. I thought he wouldn't.
Shit.
He was 24?
Shit.
For a person like him, he was so young I mean, he was supposed to be like 30 or 35 but shit he was so young. Now, that he said it. My eyes roamed on his frame taking in his physique once again like I was seeing him for the very first time. His face was clean, his hair were perfectly arranged not like strictly combed to a side but they were neat. He didn't shave his stubble which gave him the look that made him look older, his jaw was set and that chiselled lines which lay underneath that stubble were strong enough to give a killer side pose. His forearm cut now healed leaving a faded mark which I gave, his biceps bulge under his shirt as he shifted his arms─
