I woke up in Jon's arm holding me tightly against his bare chest. I could feel his breath on my neck, the cold morning air brewing my hair tickling my feet as it passed by, I shivered a little but felt at ease again as I felt his body shifting closer to mine shielding me against the wind.
Opening my eyes I saw his eyes looking directly down at me. A smile appeared on my face as my hands brushed his hair against his forehead making him flinch against my touch before relaxing. He leaned in further planting a kiss on my cheek.
His lips parted to say something then closed again.
I love you, Jon.
I wanted to say.
"Good morning" instead he spoke.
I smiled and whispered "Good morning, Jon"
Suddenly, I was jerked back and I was falling but instead I hit the back of passenger seat. My eyes shot open before I felt another jerk. My hands came out to cover my head and I felt strong arms wrapping themselves around my body as a shield. Then there was silence for a second which screamed louder than anything and I wanted to get up when I heard footsteps coming towards our car.
The glass broke and I felt the pieces falling over us.
Only for a moment the attack stopped but it was enough for Jon to get in action. He lifted himself up kicking the door with his feet before he jumped out, a gun already in his hand. With some efforts I hoisted myself up to look out the broken window. There was a car in a terrible with broken headlight standing just a few feets away and then there were three men, their faces covered and they wore street clothes which made me think this was a normal street robbery but after spending time with Jon and knowing who he was dealing with, I knew better now.
Jon was hitting them, throwing punches after punches but one man against three was unfair. None of them gave him a chance to use his gun eventually; it was thrown away as a man hit his shoulder with a rod.
I winced.
I started to look around in car for something, anything, be it a gun or a rod. Seeing the condition I was in, I needed a weapon because if I tried to use my body strength chances were we both would die. I thought of calling Janne for help but, dammit, I couldn't even find a phone here. Then I recalled, Jon threw away his phone long back and never bought another burner again. He only used payphones after it.
Finally, I found another gun in his bag, which used to be mine once. Getting into action, I got out of the car, those three men still empowered Jon but it looked like it was just time before Jon would kick their arse. He gave one guy a kick in his ribs and he fell on his back wincing, Jon moved to another guy and launched a punch in his eyes. Even though he almost tripped, he came back to punch Jon. Jon could have handled it if there wasn't another guy who was coming from behind with a rod ready to hit him.
With my shaking hands I pulled the gun with one hand and used the other one to hold my hand it in place. Removing the safety, I was about to pull the trigger when the first guy he kicked came up and pushed my arm which made the shot flying in some other direction. Everyone stopped and looked at us. He then threw a jab on my face which made me flying to the ground as I groaned. Jon shouted but I saw him being pulled back by second guy. The third guy used his rod to hit Jon's torso but Jon was quick and used his body to gain control by putting his feet on him and pushing him back. The guy who hit me came back to punch me but all I heard was a gun shot. My head turned back to the guy who was about to hit me but now all I saw was the pool of blood around his skull with a hole in it.
With wide eyes I saw Jon lift his arms both holding the gun as he emptied the bullets in their chest. The shot rang loud and I felt them to my core.
