Imagine yourself writing a book, and you stumble upon this really cool idea for an action scene. You can probably imagine it in your head, but find it difficult to put it down on paper. But that has to more do due with a lack of vocabulary which can be improved upon by reading more books. But what about the times you imagine how cool this one scene can be, but you just aren't quite sure how to write out the details?...I am sure a lot of writers encounter this problem, and no this is different from a writing block, this is more a 'temporary brain processing error'. This 'temporary brain processing error' comes from no other fact then a lack of 'experience'. This experience can be gained by reading more books, watching movies, news, history, and most of all real life experience. Once you been through that situation yourself, you will know what it feels like to be in that situation, thus giving you experience about it. Now all you have to do, now just imagine the same scene, and according to your experience, now imagine what is the most likely outcome?
Practice thinking can be applied to:
Scenario outcome
Dialogue
Character design
World building
If I listed everything you can do with practice thinking, it would just go on endlessly, so I am just going to leave it here ^.^
