"Cameron, what the hell were you doing?" he asks me, brown eyes staring at my confused look. I don't react with words, I just pull him into a hug. "Okay..." he trails off.
"Is Jack J. here as well?" I release myself from the hug, which I automatically sort of regret.
"Yeah, he's right-"
"Cameron!" Jack J screams, as he runs over to me. We all hug and then Jack and Jack starts asking questions.
"Listen, my daughter Ellie-"
"You have a daughter?!" both of them say in sync. Shit, I forgot that I didn't tell them because I was mad at Jack G. for a while.
"Anyways, my daughter Ellie has been kidnapped and is being held captive. We've been trying to save her for nine months now, but no luck. I've been in the hospital a couple of times in the past few months-"
"Oh my god! Are you okay? Do you know where Ellie is?" they both interrupt me with a thousand questions.
"Can you guys please let me finish!" they nod their heads in agreement. "I was saying, I need your guys help to save Ellie."
"I'll help," Jack J. smiles me a smile, but then glares at Jack G. He furrows his brow, as Jack G bites his lower lip.
"But I don't know if I can trust you though," Jack G pauses, remembering what we've done to each other in the past.
"Forget about the past! This is the present, not the past. Let's put the past behind us, and reunite as friends!" I say, trying not to bring up much about our past.
"Ugh, fine. But if anything happens to me or Alandra, I'll never trust you again." Jack G gives in with a sigh.
"Wait, who's Alandra?" suddenly a girl with long brown hair, thats almost like Desserea's, and brown eyes that look like acorns are dancing in her pupils walks in. She swiftly makes her way next to Jack G. and he kisses her cheek.
"This Alandra, my girlfriend." he introduces us to each other.
"Hi, I'm Cameron. It's nice to meet you." she shyly shakes my hand and faintly smiles.
"Hi, I'm Alandra. It's nice to meet you too." her soft voice sounds like the wind rubbing against the leaves of a willow tree.
"So, where's your wife?" Jack J. asks, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Nash went to go look for her after our argument..." I try not to go into any details.
"Well, we're happy to help," Jack J. smiles, nudging Jack G.'s arm with his elbow," Right Jack?".
"Right."
"I found Desserea!" Nash runs in, out of breath. Sweaty dew drops line his forehead, as if he's been running for hours. I stand up and brush off my knees.
"Where is she? Is she okay?"
"She's in the front of the building in the garden square. And she's not hurt, physically, but she seems pretty hurt, emotionally-" Nash pauses, once he notices Jack and Jack standing next to me.
"Here, you guys talk to each other, while I go talk to Desserea." Nash walks I to the room speechless, as I bolt to go find Desserea. I ignore everything around me, so I can get to her faster.
When I run to the front of the building, I find Desserea in the garden square, curled up into a ball. Her knees press against her forehead, and her hair drapes along her sides. I spot Hailee by her side, comforting her.
When I walk over to Hailee, she just shrugs and pats my shoulder before leaving us alone in the garden. The orchids that circle around us bring a pop of color to the outside world and the sweet sound of humming birds humming and flapping their wings fill the air with a sweet melody.
"Hey," I sit down next to her and rub her back softly, but she doesn't move a muscle. "Des, it's me. I came to say sorry for yelling at you. I know that this is hard for you, but we'll get through it.".
"I'm a horrible person." she mumbles.
"What?"
"I'm a horrible person. I'm a horrible wife. I'm a horrible mother, fuck I let my daughter be kidnapped when she was a new born!" she uncurls and looks at me. Tears stream down her cheeks and her, what were, bright eyes look dim and wet.
"No your not. Your the best wife in the whole world. And do you know why your the best mother?" we stare I to each other's eyes, as if we haven't connected in a while, which we haven't.
"Why?"
"You didn't give up. When our daughter was k-kidnapped, you kept trying to save her. Most people would've given up and just go with the flow, but you kept going." I wipe her tears with my sleeve.
**Desserea's P.O.V.**
"You didn't give up. When our daughter was k-kidnapped, you kept trying to save her. Most people would've given up and just go with the flow, but you kept going." Cameron wipes away my tears with his sleeve.
"But I've failed. I let Eleanor down and worst of all, I let you down." I can't help it, more tears stream down my face.
"Hey, it's okay. You don't need to cry," he slightly chuckles. I pull him into a hug. His warm biceps make me feel safe, as they wrap around me for protection. Cameron strokes my hair while I cry into his chest. I can feel his chin resting on top of my head.
"I love you," I whisper.
"I love you too."
I finally lift up my head. Before I can say anything, Cameron silences me by giving me a slow, yet soft kiss. His plump lips feel perfect when they touch mine. "I get released tonight, " he softly speaks.
I faintly smile and look down at the bench we sit on. "Des," he inches closer to me," You can talk. If your worried about crying, it's okay. You can cry in front of me.".
"I'm not worried about crying, I'm worried about saying the wrong thing. I don't want to get in another fight."
"Here," he gives me a long hug. Fireworks shoot through my body, once I know that he's no longer mad at me. This is the Cameron I love, the Cameron who will do anything to see people happy. "Feel better?".
I nod. "Come on, let's go back inside." he smiles.
"I'll meet you there in a minuet or two, I kinda just wanna clear my mind out her for a little bit."
"Okay," he gives me a kiss and then leaves the garden square. I stare at the cement below my feet, until a black Mercedes Benz pulls up about fifty feet from me.
The window rolls down, and a tall man wearing shades is revealed. "Desserea Dallas, I'm gonna have to have you come with me.".
"I'm sorry, but you have the wrong person." I dash out of the garden and back into the hospital. I sprint until I reach Cameron's room. Now Hailee, Taylor, Nash, a woman I've never seen, Jack G. and Jack J. are all in the room with Cam.
"Des, is everything okay?" Cam notices me scared look and heavy breathing.
I nod and make my way into the room. "Desserea! Long time no see!" Jack J. hugs me and surprisingly, so does Jack G.
"Yeah," I look over to the woman, who is quietly observing everything. "Hi I'm Desserea, Cameron's wife.".
"I'm Alandra, Jack G.'s girlfriend." she shakes my hand.
"So, whys everyone here?" I whisper in Cameron's ear.
"Easy, they're gonna help us find Ellie."
"Yup! Cameron gave us a call and we came as quick as we could!" Jack J. says, rubbing Cam's head.
"Okay, so here's the plan..."
Idk why, but I'm pretty proud of this chapter. The reason Desserea snapped at him, is cause she's scared and worried. She has a different connection, that only mothers have with their children, with Ellie. Are they going to find Ellie? Who was that man in the black car? What happened with Jack G. and Cameron?
