***Cameron's P.O.V.***
For the next two days we all pack up our houses. Hayes hasn't come out of Nash's room at all, not even for dinner. Nash has managed to get in there once or twice, but the longest he's been in there is about half an hour. This has hit Hayes so hard. I can't imagine how he feels. The love of his life is now dead, and he has to care for a baby all by himself. He doesn't know what to do. I barely know what to do. I'd help him, but he won't let me in. I've heard Ashton cry a few times, but not too long cause that baby never cries. But to be honest, I think this is the most Ashton has ever cried. Maybe he knows that something's up, considering the fact that his mother hasn't been around for about a week to take care of him. This must've hit Hayes like a brick wall, hard and unexpected. I think I saw Grace slip into the room a few times to talk to Hayes.
My thinking is interrupted by a door slamming behind me. I turn to see Jack G. storming out of the room and Alandra rushing behind him. "Stop overreacting!" she yells in his direction, while grabbing his wrist.
"I'm overreacting? You just don't understand!" he screams back, flicking his arm away from her grip.
"Who gives a fuck! It in the past! Just forgive him and stop acting like such an asshole!" are they fighting about me?
"How can I forgive him if he's the reason all these bad things happened to me!" with that he leaves the house. Alandra takes a deep breath and sighs.
"Sorry you had to hear that Cameron," she comes over to me. "Do you mind telling me what happened between you and Jack cause he won't tell me?".
"Of course," I sit down at the kitchen table and she sits down across from me.
"You see, when we were in high school we were best friends. Jack and I spent all our time together. Anyways, one night we went to a party at Jack Johnson's house. We didn't mean to get drunk, but we did. I ended up staying the night cause I didn't wanna drive home drunk. But Jack decided to drive home and he was very drunk. He didn't get in an accident, but I told his parents that he was drinking and driving cause I didn't want him to get hurt. But what I didn't know is that his Dad hated him and turned him into the cops. Jack spent one week in jail, which caused his parents to fight. After he got home, they announced their divorce. Ever since then, we never spoke until you guys started helping me look for Ellie." I admit.
"Oh my god, I had no idea." she cups her hands over her mouth. My lips press together as I slowly nod.
Alandra leaves to go find Jack, and I head over to Des. She sits on the air mattress with Ellie in her lap. I stand directly across from them and smile. My baby girl is now safe. Ellie's hair is pulled into a cute little ponytail that's topped off with a tiny pink bow. She crawls halfway across the mattress and then rolls onto the ground. What is she doing?
She pushes herself up, and next thing I know, she's walking towards me! "Cam! She's walking towards you!" Des smiles excited, while pulling out her phone to videotape. Ellie falls once, but then stands right back up and slowly makes her way to me.
I stretch out my arms and get on my knees. Ellie holds out her chubby hands and closes them a few times like she's grabbing the air. Finally, she reaches me and I pick her up. "Your first steps!" I swing her around and kiss her cheek.
"I'm so proud of you," Des joins us and cuddles close to us. I carry Ellie, with her balanced on my right side and Des wraps her arm around my left side. My family now safe in my arms, is the happiest feeling in the world.
"I have an idea for the babies name," Des whispers in my ear.
"What is it?" I kiss her cheek.
"I was thinking about the name...."
