It had been three months since Vic had lost his sister to cancer and he was finally starting to pick up the pieces again. I hated seeing him in so much pain, but I was also glad he was at least trusting me to see him like this and to help him put his life back together again. I knew it was hard for him to let anyone - even me, his boyfriend of three years - see him so broken and vulnerable.

Just then Copeland came running toward me. "Daddy!" She shrieked.

Then I saw her reason for running and screaming. Vic was chasing her around the room, making dinosaur sounds. I smiled at the two of them. My little pieces of heaven, that's what they were.

"Rah! Caught you!" Vic snatched Cope up and spun her around in the air.

"Papa Vic! No fair!" She whined.

I chuckled under my breath and stood from my chair to join them in the middle of the room.

"Cope, what's Papa Vic doing to you?" I smirked.

Vic rolled his eyes as he propped Copeland up on his hip and turned his attention to me. "Your dearest daughter decided she didn't want to get dressed today, so she took off as soon as she saw me pulling something other than her pajamas out of her bag."

"Daddy, I no wanna go home," she pouted.

Just looking at her made my heart break, but I still had to send her back home to Katelynne. That was the agreement. That was the only thing holding Katelynne back from taking me to court and demanding full custody of our daughter.

I winced when I saw the look of hurt flash across Kellin's face before he skillfully masked it. I sighed as I thought of the reason behind his pain. The bitch had been repeatedly threatening to take Cope away from Kellin here lately. It was as if she just wanted to see him squirm. We all knew for a fact that she didn't actually want their daughter. She just wanted the child support and to see Kellin in pain. Copeland was Kellin's world and Katelynne knew that. And she was using it to her full advantage.

A horn beeping outside broke us out of the moment. Copeland whined and shifted on my hip as I carried her back to mine and Kellin's room.

"Go tell her to dig her thong out of her ass while I finish dressing your daughter."

Kellin let out a bark of laughter as he headed for the door. "Vic, you might want to censor your language a bit."

I turned to Copeland. "Sweety, never repeat anything Papa Vic says, okay?"

She nodded. "Okay, Papa Vic. But why?"

I sighed. "Because some of the things I say aren't very nice."

She made a face. "Oh."

I sighed and trudged down the steps outside to go tell my exwife to calm her tits. Jeez, what's with women, anyway? Katelynne rolled down the window when I approached and glared out at me.

"Where the hell is my daughter?"

I mentally rolled my eyes. "One, she's my daughter too. Two, calm your fucking tits. She'll be out in a few minutes. Vic was just wrangling her into the last of her clothes and grabbing her bag."

Her eyes narrowed and she pinched her lips together at the mention of Vic's name. "Why the hell did you leave him alone with her?" She hissed.

I rolled my eyes. "Because Vic is a better mother to her than you could ever be," I spat angrily. I was seeing red with what she had just insinuated.
