What the actual...
''What? Definitely not!'' Caroline exclaimed, right before I could.

She had taken dangerous steps toward Ric, who was still smirking widely, and staring at her, clearly unimpressed.

''Come on Care! I give you something, you give me something... it's a win-win! And times have been hard lately...''

I rolled my eyes at him, as well as Caroline.
I got up from the table, put the bourbon glass on it and walked over to Ric.

However, before I could reach him, Kol appeared right in front of me.

''She is not going anywhere, mate.'' he whispered dangerously to Ric, his back facing me.
That guy had a nerve, seriously!

I was too short to look over Kol's shoulder and see his reaction, but judging by Caroline's one -who was beside me- I could guess it wasn't a good one.

''I am going to do, what I want to do.'' I could feel Alaric taking close steps toward Kol as the wooden floor cracked below his feet.
He stopped so close to Kol's face, that from my point of view, his hair was confounded with Kol's one.
He leaned into his ear, looking at me from over Kol's shoulder, and whispered.
''Mate.''

And this was it... That made Kol snap.
In the blink of an eye, he slapped Alaric's face away from his ear, and had him against a wall, chocking him.

Kol seemed beyond mad, while Elijah and Klaus jumped into action, trying to stop their brother, while Caroline was shielding me with her body.

Ric started laughing hysterically like a mad person, and seeing Kol's expression becoming even angrier, he just continued laughing until he was completely red, but I didn't know if it was because of his hysterical state, or Kol's chocking.

I couldn't believe this!

Alaric, our Alaric, would have never done something like this!

He wasn't a bad guy, but what the Gilbert ring had done to him had definitely changed him.
It was even worse now that he was an original vampire!

After about two minutes, Elijah and Klaus were still trying to stop their brother from chocking Alaric, even though he couldn't die.
The two brothers were on either side of their little one, holding both his arms, but he wouldn't let go.

I overcame my shocked state, not bearing to see this anymore, and walked passed Caroline.
This one complained, and tried to get me back behind her, but I stopped her right where she was.

''We need answers!'' I whispered-yelled at her, drawing my eyebrows together.
She threw one glance at the four originals pinned on the wall, then back at me, and nodded slowly.

I walked to Alaric-who was still pinned against the wall- while Caroline stayed behind, crossed arms, waiting to intervene if anything were to happen.

I hadn't said anything yet, and I thought the noise the four men were making was enough to muffle any sounds I would make, but apparently I was wrong, because about two steps away from Kol's back, he yelled, without even turning to face me.
''Don't you dare come anywhere near him, Claire!''

Oh, right... vampire hearing and all...

For some reason, his voice sounded mad, and I couldn't understand why he had pinned Ric against the wall, but I wasn't going to let him stop me.

''I need to talk to Ric, Kol.''
The latter one just chuckled darkly.

His brothers had finally let go of him, and were now by his sides, still ready to stop him if he did anything -even more- stupid.

''Yeah Claire... come on... talk! Although... I'm not so sure your boyfriend over here would allow much talking...'' Ric started, then looked at me, as I was now standing right next to Kol, who by the way looked furious. He was only staring at Ric though.

I sighed, clearly not amused, and looked at Elijah expectantly.
He got the hint, and told Klaus to come with him. Klaus was a little reluctant, but then he understood his brother needed to calm down and I needed to get answers for all of us.

They both walked and stayed beside Caroline at the back of the room, and I was left with Kol and Ric.

I put my hand on Kol's bicep, softly putting pressure on it.

''Kol, it's okay. I think he got the hint now.''I said, feeling Kol's arm relax a bit. He was ready to let go, when Ric had to speak up and ruin the moment.

''Yeah! Of course it's alright Kol!'' this had, as a result to make Kol tighten his hands even more against Ric's throat.
I face palmed myself, could Alaric really be that dumb?
Okay, he couldn't die, but it was no reason to piss off a Mikaelson!

Fine... I was going to deal with it then!
I looked back at Ric, straight into his eyes.
''What do you need me for?''

He started to laugh again, and I felt Kol tense up beside me.
It took lots of laughs for Alaric to finally catch his breath and speak.
''Oh because sweet mama Mikaelson is not as amazing as I thought she would be... don't get me wrong, she hates vampires as much as I do... but she put a very bothering part in our contract...''

''What part?'' I asked, straightaway.

I couldn't see the people behind me, but I was pretty sure they all tensed up at the mention of Esther.

''Well you see... she told me to kill her children here, in this timeline... she told me she would send me here and all... thing is... she never mentioned anything about how I get back from here!''
He was yelling by the end of his sentence, and I quickly got the catch.

''So... she wanted you to kill the originals, to get rid of them, and then leave you here, knowing perfectly you would rather die than turn anyone into a vampire... and then... end of the vampire species!''

He continued laughing, while Kol glared at him and a gasp from Caroline was heard.

''You know... for a blonde... you're pretty smart!''
However, his laughter turned into a weird whistle as he struggled for air.

Kol was putting so much pressure on his neck, the wall behind Ric started to break and his veins were visible.

I decided to do as fast as possible, ignoring his comebacks.
''But... What do you need me for then?''

He looked at me with a 'are you dumb' look, trying to suck up the pain Kol was inflecting him.

''I need magic to send me back... don't think I like you particularly, but the witches here see me as some sort of abomination... so... let's just say you're my first choice from the bottom of the list?''

I blinked several times, but noticed that Kol too was getting annoyed, and I didn't think he would be able to hold himself much longer, even though I still didn't understand why he had such a hatred toward Ric.

''But... I can't use my magic Ric! You know exactly why!'' I exclaimed, and crossed my arms over my chest.

I was observing Ric while he stared back at me, but spoke up.
''You honestly think I care about that?''

I lowered my gaze. Of course he didn't.

''Come on Claire! Don't pout... if it's any consolation, I didn't lie! I really think that gown fits you very wel-'' but Alaric didn't get the chance to finish his sentence when his laughter died down, as Kol broke his neck.
