''What? Rebekah, it's me-'' I started right after she pushed me away rather rudely.
Wow, giving hugs wasn't something I did on a daily basis and her pushing me away kind of made me feel as if I wasn't welcome...

''Who-'' Rebekah started but before she could finish the sentence she was cut off by Klaus that now stood between us.

He may have cut off Rebekah but when he spoke, he addressed me, surprisingly in a lower tone than his usual condescending and 'look-I-m-better-than-you' one.
''Claire, you'll excuse my sister's behavior but I believe you know what her issue is here.''

I looked at him, then to Rebekah.

Seeing the blonde original in such a state, looking at me with the fangs bared and the whole dark veiny cheeks I got the feeling that she had nothing to do with my friend.

I didn't know why that revelation was such a shocker to me since I should have known she wasn't going to be all hugging with me but I expected... something. However, she didn't even know me, that I knew for sure. The way she was looking at me right now... it was the same she looked at Elena back home, with so much hate.

''Rebekah...'' it wasn't meant to be a question, but it wasn't either meant to be said in such a weak voice, especially my weak voice.

Her facial expression didn't change from the hatred plastered all over it but it seemed to soften a bit as she relaxed so the veiny cheeks and fangs disappeared.

As I didn't feel she was a threat anymore -thing I would hardly think of my best friend- I looked her up and down, desperately trying to find any similarities to my Rebekah, I mean, more than just the same face.

To my dismay though, I didn't find any of Rebekah's usual skirts in the light blue gown she was wearing or in her blond hair that she let down all the time... it was weird to see it put up in a bun with loose curls for once.

In short, she looked so different while still looking exactly the same.

To say I was disappointed was clearly an understatement but I couldn't really do anything about it right now, especially with the look on her face...

''Oh amazing, another Blondie, like we needed two Claire's!'' A voice behind Rebekah spoke sarcastically and I couldn't help but roll my eyes, as expected though, Rebekah turned around to bare her fangs at him.
However, the little ass just sweet smiled at her.

I'd like to say, his statement wasn't true.
Despite our hair color, Rebekah and I had nothing in common, despite having the same tastes in many things and talking about the same things, both of us never really having a mother and... literally, nothing in common.

I didn't know at which point I'd zoned out but when I got back to the scene displaying in front of me, Rebekah had sat down on the cream and flower patterned sofa Klaus had previously been dead on and she was glaring daggers at Alaric and Klaus 'talking'.
Fact was they weren't really talking, they were more like pushing each other to the limits.

And I knew the originals, and more importantly Klaus hadn't understood very well when we had explained the whole thing about Alaric having the white oak stake and being sent by Esther, luckily though, the original, not full on hybrid for now, had shown more interest into locating the stake than to talk about his not so late mom.

''Yeah, yeah I get it...'' Alaric said to an unimpressed Klaus as they continued bickering throwing puns at each other, I didn't know why though, I got the feeling like Alaric's felt more like punches to Klaus.

Elijah was still in his initial spot but his glass was down and he just stared at Rebekah's back on the sofa. I had the feeling he was going to hug her, but apparently, he wasn't going to make a move anytime soon.

I wasn't one to understand family and all that but when your darling sister gets out of a coma that lasted something like a few hundred years, weren't you supposed to hug each other until you both squeeze so hard you couldn't breathe anymore?

But by the looks of it, Rebekah wasn't willing to jump into his arms either. She sat straight on the sofa, head held high, staring in front of her without expression even though I caught her sideway glance at the bickering happening between Klaus and Alaric.

Caroline was still outside and unaware of Rebekah's visit, I was going to enjoy it while it lasted.

Even though Caroline didn't control my life and all that she never quite liked the fact that I was friends with Rebekah, reason why she had tried to separate us many times by interrupting us and joining when it wasn't requested. Like I said, no Caroline around and I was going to spend as much time with the only original vampire I didn't hate right now.

I took my chances and casual steps toward her, then, I not so gracefully landed on the spot beside her. I looked ahead of me just like she did but I could tell we were so close our skirts mixed together to form a bluish reddish gown.

I continued looking ahead but I could feel her glare on the side of my head.

I definitely didn't know this Rebekah.

However sitting next to her brought me a little comfort even though it was barely enough.

We didn't talk but she eventually turned her head back to the bickering in front of us.

She hadn't talked to Elijah at all and I wondered if she was crossed with him for some reason because in the future, they seemed to get along quite well.

Sensing the tension in the room, I started to pay attention to Klaus and Alaric right on time when the latter one spoke.

''Now, where's the bastard that ripped my heart out?'' Klaus glared daggers at Ric and Rebekah seemed clueless. I couldn't see Elijah since he was still behind me but I pictured his reaction as the same as Klaus.

''Y'know...'' Ric continued to make it even worse, ''just so I can return the favor...''.

Wow, Alaric really wanted to die.
Even though he technically couldn't though, threatening an original vampire in front of his family was certainly something that was written in the book of things you shouldn't do.

I guessed that he was serious since anyhow Kol couldn't get permanently killed by something as simple as ripping his heart out, but I believed Ric meant something entirely different when he talked about 'returning the favor'.
Let's just say that with the white oak stake still no where to be found except for Ric since he knew precisely where it was, we better take precautions.

Just as I was about to rise from my seat but a pissed off Caroline burst through the door and stood beside Ric and Klaus.

She didn't seem to be sad anymore, no, she just seemed... angry?

''I'm gonna kill Kol!''

The three originals looked at her bewildered but Ric just nodded like the psychiatrist who understood perfectly what you were talking about.

Caroline roamed the room with her eyes and for a split second, her look settled on Rebekah and I could read surprise and a bit of intimidation in them. However, it turned back into a glare.

I heard Elijah sigh and move toward us, as he passed the couch, Rebekah's eyes settled on the floor, proving that indeed something was wrong between them.

''Calm down,'' Klaus started before Elijah could as he reached his brother's side.

Alaric was still standing beside them but he was massaging his temples as if having a headache.

''What did my little brother do this time?'' Klaus asked with a smirk, however, it was cut short and turned into a frown and a murderous glare when Caroline answered his question.

''He kissed me!''
