Chapter 12 - Lost & Found

Topaz's POV

"Why are we going out to eat?" I groaned.

"For proper nourishment for the hybrid," Rainboweyes said.

"Why do I have to come?" Popplio asked.

"Because the Pokémon food is good too," she replied.

"Piplup's Burgers," I read out. We went inside and there were people dressed up as Piplup.

"Wow, this is weird and cool at the same time!" I said as Popplio and I went to sit down. I could see people walking below us AND Pokémon swimming around!?

"Get up!" Rainboweyes said, "you have to come up here to order your food."

"Order it for me?" I asked, "don't forget the seaweed!"

"Seaweed?" she said.

"I always have seaweed with my burgers," I said.

"Humans don't put seaweed on their burgers," she said, "they put lettuce."

"Lettuce?" I asked.

"Yes, lettuce," she said, "a leafy ground plant."

"OK," I said, "I'll try it."

"Hello, and welcome to Piplup's Burgers," a Piplup man said in a monotone voice, "may I take your order?"

"It's Rainboweyes," she said.

"May I take your order?" he asked, his tone unchanged, "you're holding up the line."

A little girl piped up, "you're an idiot! How do you not know who she is?"

"I do know who she is," he said, "I'm just supposed to treat every customer equally."

"Well I don't like your attitude," Rainboweyes snapped, "its rude to act like you don't care! I'm gonna tell your boss!"

"Geez! I had a bad day! I'm just bummed out," he sounded kinda sad saying that.

"Sorry," Rainboweyes said apologetically, "I didn't know."

"May I take your order now? Miss Rainboweyes," he said.

"Sure," she said, "I'll take one Pokémon food and two Piplup burgers with fries and fountain drinks. Oh yeah, and make one of those rare!"

"Will that be for here or to go?" he asked.

"For here," she responded.

"Fountain drinks?" I asked.

"Don't ask," Rainboweyes said.

*10 minutes later*

While we were eating, I saw a Feraligatr sitting at the table across from us, eating a burger?

"Rainboweyes?" I asked.

"What?" she asked.

"Are Pokémon allowed to eat the burgers?" I asked.

"They're not supposed to," she said, "how'd it even get in without its trainer?"

"I'll ask," I said, "hey! Feraligatr!"

"Gatr?" it asked.

'Ugh, not this again,' I thought.

"Come outside with me, Feraligatr," I said, taking its hand.

"Ferali?" it asked.

"OK, cut the crap," I said, "I'm a mermaid. I can understand water type Pokémon."

"Really?" it asked.

"Yes, really," I said.

"So, what do you want from me?" it asked.
