Tony was at his mansion, when his phone rang. He sat down as he picked it up to answer, when a buzzing noise filled his ears and he grew stiff.

"Tony? Tony, are you there? Hello?" whoever was on the phone asked.

He twitched as he started to freeze up and the phone was taken from him. Whoever was there sat him down on the couch.

"Breathe. Easy, easy," Obadiah spoke from the couch. "You remember this one, right?"

He held up a small device.

"It's a shame the government didn't approve it. There's so many applications for causing short-term paralysis."

He walked to in front of Tony.

"Ah, Tony," he hummed as he took out his ear plugs to prevent his own paralysis. "When I ordered the hit on you..."

Tony's eyes widened.

"-I worried that I was killing the golden goose," Obadiah clamped a device on the arc reactor in Tony's chest. "But, you see, it was just fate-"

Tony grunted as the reactor was pulled out of his chest.

"-that you survived that. You had one last golden egg to give," Obadiah smirked tauntingly as he started down Tony. "Do you really think that just because you have an idea, it belongs to you? Your father, he helped give us the atomic bomb. Now, what kind of world would it be today if he was as selfish as you?"

Tony gasped as the reactor's wire was finally yanked from his chest. Obadiah removed the clamp.

"Oh, it's beautiful," Obi marveled. "Tony, this is your Ninth Symphony. What a masterpiece. Look at that."

He sat down next to Tony as he held the reactor in his face.

"This is your legacy. A new generation of weapons with this at its heart. Weapons that will help steer the world back on course, put the balance of power in our hands. The right hands. I wish you could've seen my prototype. It's not as... Well, not as conservative as yours."

He closed the reactor in a case as Tony's eyes grew even bigger.

"Too bad you had to involve Pepper and Ada in this. I would have preferred that they both lived."

Tony watched in horror as Obi walked away, leaving him on the couch to die.

------------------

"What do you mean, he paid to have Tony killed? Pepper, slow down. Why would Obadiah... Okay, where's Tony now?" Rhodey asked as Ada sat in the back seat.

Pepper had had Rhodey pick her up, but then quickly to leave, as she wanted hi not rush to the Stark Mansion to find Tony.

"I don't know. He's not answering his phone," Pepper responded. "Please go over there and make sure everything's okay, and keep Ada safe. Thank you, Rhodey."

------------------

"I don't know. He's not answering his phone," Pepper responded. "Please go over there and make sure everything's okay, and keep Ada safe. Thank you, Rhodey."

She walked with agents to a car.

"I know a shortcut," she spoke to them as they went to a car.

------------------

Rhodey turned quickly and sped off to the Stark Mansion. Ada gripped on for dear life. Not only for her own, but for her dad as well.

------------------

Tony stumbled down the elevator to the garage, as he was too weak to take the stairs. He landed on the door and used his body weight to get it open. He saw his first reactor on the desk and started to make his way over to it.

He fell to the ground and crawled his way towards the lab desk, using whatever was available to help get there. He pushed a Creeper(rolly thing to get underneath a car) out of the way.

He made it to the desk and tried to grab it, but instead pushed it farther back. He tried again, but collapsed to the ground from weakness.

Dummy brought down the small glass case that enclosed the reactor down to Tony's level. Tony eyed Dummy as he grabbed the reactor case.

"Good boy," he muttered and shattered it by striking it to the ground.

-------------------

Obadiah stared at his suit with Tony's reactor in hand. He smirked as he placed it into the chestplate and it hummed to life.

--------------------

"Tony?" Rhodey called into the Mansion. "Tony?"

"Dad?" Ada yelled.

"Tony?" Rhodey headed down to the lab with Ada following suit. "Tony? Tony! Tony! You okay?"

Tony rolled over and gripped Rhodey's jacket.

"Where's Ada and Pepper?" he spoke softly.

"They're both fine. Ada's right her. Pepper's with five agents. They're about to arrest Obadiah," Rhodey explained.

Tony's eyes met Ada's.

"That's not going to be enough," he grumbled.

-----------------

Pepper and the agents walked into Stark Industries. Pepper swiped her card, and they were let in.

"Section 16. Section 16," Pepper looked around. "There it is."

She tried to swipe her card, but it didn't work.

"My key's not working. It's not opening the door. Oh, wow! What's that? It's, like, a little device? It's, like, a thing that's going to pick the lock?"

Agent Coulson placed a small device on the door.

"You might want to take a few steps back," he advised.

Pepper ran back with the other agents. A small boom emitted and opened the door.

----------------

Tony stood as robots formed the suit around him Ada grabbed her headset and placed it on her head.

"That's the coolest thing I've ever seen," Rhodey gaped.

"Not bad, huh?" Tony replied monotonously. "Let's do it."

He shot at the car he dented, and it pushed it to the side. Ada smiled at her dad.

"You need me to do anything else?" Rhodey asked.

"Keep the skies clear." Tony spoke as the faceplate went down and he flew through the hole in the ceiling.

"Damn!" Rhodey marveled.

His gaze caught the Mark II.

"Next time, baby."

"Um, I need you to take me to Stark Industries," Ada spoke up.

"No, Pepper told me to keep you safe."

"I need to be there, Rhodey! I'll be fine," Ada argued.

"Fine," Rhodey caved as he got in one of the cars and drove off with Ada.
