He was he staring at me. What the hell? I raise my eyebrows at him and he looks away, embarrassed. I am going to have to keep my eye out for Mr. Creepy. He was good looking at least. I sigh. I bet he's popular. God help me.
Second period flew past. I didn't catch Mr. Creepy staring at me, but then again, I didn't really look.

Willow and I head out to break, and we manage to find a nice spot under a tree. We sit on the painted bench to eat our lunch.
"So, Raven, tell me something about you," Willow asks, turning her body to me so that I have her full attention.
"There's not really much to know about me," I say in turn.
"Oh come on, there has to be something."
I think about my mother, but shake the thought out of my head. She doesn't need to know that now, you can tell her later, you need to know you can trust her. Plus, remember what happened last time people knew? I reason with myself. And for once, I agree with my the little voice in my head. "Well you already know I'm a musician," She nods, obviously wanting more detail. "I went to Greenway Academy before came here." Hoping it was enough to feet her curiosity, I returned to eating my food.
"How about you? What makes you special?" I ask, glancing at her through my long black hair.
"Uhm... Oh, yeah, I'm in the fashion sector, my favorite color is yellow, and I have a huge crush on Ethan Mayers in my biology class." She smiles sheepishly. We both start laughing, with Willow almost choking on her food.
"Sooo? Seen any cute guys yet?" Willow says, smiling crookedly at me.
"Not really. There was this one guy, but he was more creepy than attractive." I giggle. "He was staring at me in math today."
"Huh," She replies, pulling her phone out of her bag, "Was it this guy?" She asks, showing me a photo of a student wearing glasses and a bowler hat.
"Definitely not," I say, shaking my head. Willow continued to scroll her photo library.
"Do you keep the entire student body in your photos?" I ask, chuckling at her.
"Well no, but I do keep most of our grade."
"That one," I say, catching a glimpse of one of the images.
"Oh, my, god. Theodore?"
"Yeah, that kid." I nod "What's so special about him?"
"Ahh, only that he's like, the most popular guy in our year, and one of the hottest. I can't believe he was checking you out!"
"He definitly was not checking me out" I scoff "He was probably seeing if I was loopy, which, by the way, I am. But he doesn't know that." I smile, and Willow and I start giggling. "But remind me to keep an eye on him. If I catch him looking at me again," I say, sliding my thumb slowly across my neck.
Willow and I continued to laugh and make small talk until it was time for fourth and fifth. I sighed, "double English here we come," I say sarcastically.
The rest of the day flew past. The next break we had, Willow and I exchanged numbers and continued the conversations we didn't manage to finish earlier in the day. After break, I reported to the principals' office, mainly to let him know I was fitting in okay.
The bus ride home is uneventful but peaceful. The misbehaving kids stay in the back, and the silent ones remain in the front half. A loud popping noise sounds in the back, which startles all but a few of the students aboard. I turn to find one of the students in the back rows has an origami paper clapper and is using it to annoy his friends. Glancing at the kids in the back, I recognize one of the faces. Holy crap. It's Mr. Creepy. Fabulous. He catches sight of me looking, but I simply roll my eyes at him. He seems slightly stunned and confused, but I dismiss it and return to my cell phone.
I was jolted back to reality when my phone went off. It was Willow.
"Heya Raven! How's your bus going?" I laugh quietly to myself. She has no idea.
"It's fine. But guess who else rides this bus?" I hit send. God will she flip.
"Oh my god. Is it Theodore?"
"You guessed it." The bus jolts to a stop and everyone starts filing out through the mechanical doors.
"Gtg. Bye!" I message.
"Okay. See you tomorrow! (:"
"Hey dad, I'm home," I call as I walk through the front door.
"Hey, how was your first day?"
"Good, actually", I reply, heading toward the stairs. I walk through the kitchen to reach the stairs and grab a red apple. "I made a friend."
"Yeah?" He says, giving me a quick hug as I pass him working on his laptop. He works shifts at the local hospital, which means I sometimes don't see him for a whole day. Sometimes he works late shifts, which means he sleeps through the day, and other times, he works early in the morning. I've gotten pretty used to it. He has to work extra hard to keep food in our bellies - including my cat - and were doing a pretty good job. I was surprised to find I'd made it into MSA. Every since moms, accident, we've been trying extra hard. We found an excellent home, in a really good area. So far, we're going great.
I head to my bedroom, grab my computer from my bag, and flop onto my bed. I open and unlock my Mac. A photo of my dad, mom, and I pops up as my screen saver.
"My first day was a success mom, I made a friend. Her name's Willow. You'd really like her, she looks just like Aunty Ange."
