Christina P.O.V.
I had been walking through the ship looking for Octavia, till Jane had told me that Octavia had gotten sea sick and had gone up above deck. I wanted to talk to her, work things out, which was hard to do when every time I tried to talk she would interrupt and start talking to someone else. So I figured this was the best place to talk was here and now.
Believe it or not but Octavia and I used to be really close when we were younger. We used to play games all around the castle like hide and seek, tag, find the missing object in the room. She used to teach me how to use my dagger, she used to be fun but as we got older she started to push me away which lead to us fighting each other.
I open the hatch to see Octavia standing next to the railing of the ship, looking far off at the endless expanse of water as the sunset. She didn't look sea sick... she looked sad. I quietly walk over to her and stand next to her.
"You okay?" I ask her, she looks over at me surprised.
"What do you want?" She asks, her voice not it's usual iciness. I was taking that as a good sign.
"To talk."
"About?" She questions turning to me looking annoyed.
"About you've been acting so strangely the last few months and why you hate me," I say it all coming out in a rush. Octavia sighs and turns back to the ocean.
"I don't hate you, I'm just... I wanted to protect you," she says I look at her confused.
"Protect me? By pushing me away!" I snapped.
"Yes, but you won't understand why," Octavia murmured softly.
"Then explain it. Explain it all to me," I plead with her.
"I can't not yet, father will explain it to you. That must be why he sent for you," exclaimed Octavia a smile coming over her face, one that I hadn't seen in years. But then her smile fell.
"Oh, Christina once father explains to you what is going, I hope... I hope you'll find that you can forgive me," Octavia pleaded grabbing my hands. Her eyes were filled with remorse for her actions and her hands shaking.
"Sister, I forgive you now," I reassured her. I pull her into a hug, her quiet sobs became louder as she let out all the emotions she had been holding back for all these years.
"I'm sorry Christina," she cried.
"It's okay." I murmured to her.
Next Morning
"Land ahead!" I hear one of the men shout, I jump out of bed and quickly throwing on one of my dresses before rushing up to the deck. My sisters had gathered up there also each leaning against the railing trying to get a good look of the land. I was standing on my tip toes trying to get a good look, useless! I run to the bow (front) of the ship and climb up onto the bowsprit, I grab onto one of the ropes and lean forward.
I could see the city of Crystal Grove, the roof tops peeking over each other as the hills rolled upward. And at the top of a cliff overlooking the city stood a beautiful Palace, it's high white walls stood tall above the city, windows big and small all over. I could see multiple towers even though we were miles away.
"It's a pretty nice view from up here, ain't it Princess?" I hear Zach say from above me. I look up to see him standing on top of one of the beams that held the sails, I look at him like he's crazy.
"How did you even get up there?" I ask him. He laughs at my question before jumping off the beam. I gasp in shock as he grabs onto the rope that I was holding onto and quickly sliding down it. He grabs my waist as lands in the same spot I was, as if making sure I didn't fall into the water below us. I let go of the rope and hang onto him instead.
"You must really trust me, Princess," he says smiling down at me. I can feel my face start to heat up.
"You haven't given me a reason not to," I respond. He laughs again, I was guessing that he was just glad to almost be on land again. I glance down at his shoulder, he had taken off his jacket and was just wearing a dark shirt that had been ripped a bit by his shoulder. I could see an old scar that looked like it was made by a whip.
"You okay Princess?" He asks looking a bit worried.
"Um.. Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," I say drawing my eyes away from his scar.
"You sure?"
Y-Yeah it's nothing really," I say pulling myself out of his arms. I look toward the city once more.
"I'm almost home, Zach. I'm almost there."
