Mia:
"Mom, can't I stay home today? I don't wanna go to school!" I whined and yelled like a baby trying to convince my mom to let me stay home.
Today, we had to submit our assignments and I, being the lazy person that I am, clearly didn't prepare one.
"No means no, young lady. If you don't want to be grounded for a whole month then be a good girl and go to school." My mom pushed my hands that were gripping the side of her shirt, away.
"Please," I pushed my bottom lip out while trying my best to make a puppy dog kinda cute face.
"No." She didn't even look at me.
"Fine! I'll go but I'm angry at you." I huffed and went to my room upstairs.
Hurriedly, dressing up for school, I grabbed my phone and purse and went downstairs. I passed by my mom, quietly without acknowledging her presence.
That was my biggest mistake ever.
My school was far so I decided to go on foot rather than going on my car and wasting gas. And yes, we were rich.
One more thing that you guys should know is that I was half American and half Korean. My dad was Caucasian but my mom was Korean this making me mixed race. I also look mostly American. You could say that I look 65% American while 35% Korean.
When I reached school, I went straight to my group of friends. Among them, I saw Adeline, my best friend. I headed towards her and gave her a tight hug, "Hi!"
"Hi! What's up?" Adeline asked me once we pulled back from the hug.
"Nothing much expect that I'm in a bad mood." I said and frowned.
"Why?" Adeline asked me with curiosity.
"I didn't prepare my assignment so I wanted to ditch school but my mom forced me to go."
"Assignment? What assignment?" Adeline looked at me, puzzled.
"You don't remember? Today we had to submit our biology assignments."
"Sh*t! That devil will kill us." Adeline cursed out loud, clearly referring to Mr. James.
"I know right." My frown deepened.
"I guess, today we are attending detention together because I also didn't prepare the assignment." Leah, our other friend joined the conversation.
Just then, the bell rang, signalling the start of long long torture.
My day went on slowly and painfully. Soon, I was sitting inthe last lecture, my focus entirely on the clock instead on our dear teacher.
Out of the blue, the door to the classroom burst open and a teacher entered the class. Turning her attention to me she said, "Mia Ryder, please go to office. It's urgent."
I threw a confused, puzzled look at Leah and Adeline and headed to the office. When I reached there, I greeted the principal who motioned for me to sit.
