When Taylor got home, she called Katie. "He broke my heart." She said after Katie picked up.

"What an asshole." Katie said. Taylor started crying again, and Katie said, "Hang on. I'm coming."

Katie arrived at her house, and threw herself on the couch next to Taylor. She wrapped her arms around her, and Taylor accepted the hug, crying into her shoulder.

Katie rubbed comforting circles on the middle of Taylor's back. She stroked Taylor's blonde hair, murmuring comforting things. "Hey, it's okay." She said. "I know it hurts."

Taylor was trembling in her friend's arms. "I-I loved him." She choked.

"I know." Katie said.

"Am I not good enough for him?" She said, anger building up in her chest.

"Taylor, you're way too good for him." Katie said. "He just was too stupid to realize that he would be lucky to have you."

Taylor looked into Katie's face, and her friend wiped the tears falling down her face. "I'm going to get you ice cream."

Taylor nodded. "Okay." Katie got up, and left.

Taylor grabbed her phone, and called Chris. "Hello?" His voice came over the line.

"You're an asshole." Taylor growled.

"Tay what?"

"I hate you." She said, tears falling down her face.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know why I ever liked you!" Taylor screamed.

"I don't understand what's going on." Chris was legitimately confused.

"I loved you and you said that you only saw me as a friend!" She screamed.

Katie heard the end of the conversation, and sprinted into the room. "Give me your phone!" She said, trying to get the phone off of Taylor.

"No!" Taylor said. "Chris I hate you!"

"Give me the goddamn phone!" She wrestled the phone off of Taylor, and hung up.

Katie sat next to Taylor, who started sobbing. Katie hugged her, and Taylor murmured, "I'm sorry."

"I know." Katie said. "You're just hurting."

"Will you stay here?" Taylor asked.

"Of course."

"You're such a great friend," Taylor said, "I appreciate what you do for me."

"Hey, I will always be here for you." Katie said, smiling.

Taylor nodded. "Thank you."

"Put on a brave smile for me." Taylor smiled, and Katie laughed. "There we go."

Taylor went to bed that night, and when she woke up he next morning, she saw Katie passed out on the couch, an empty bowl on ice cream on the table.
