Chapter 42 - Happy 1st Birthday!

Renne's POV

Today is Madeleine's 1st birthday! I'm going to try to enjoy this but, it's going to be hard since my mom just passed. I don't think it's fair to Madeleine that it happened right before her birthday. I feel like she thinks the attention is being taken away from her.

"So babe you know that house I was telling you about in L.A if you are still not sure about raising Madeleine there I understand but, I found a really amazing house that would be perfect. In has four bedrooms the master has a bathroom with a shower and tub with jets, it has a kitchen and formal dining room, and also a great living room for entertaining. Also its closer to the beach. What do you think? Do you want to go look at it in a couple of days", Blake asks.

"Yeah we can go look at it", I tell him.

"Alright great! Now let's get up so we can decorate and get ready to party", he says helping me out of bed.

"Alright", I smile he gives me a small kiss and we start to get dressed.

I put on jeans and a black dressy low cut tank top that's kind of flowy and my black heels. I curl my hair and do my makeup. Then I walk over to Madeleine and wake her up.

"Hi sweetie Happy Birthday", I say picking her up and hugging her. She doesn't understand it but, it's the thought that counts.

"Hi momma", she says. I pick her up out of her bed and then put her down to walk. And then she follows me to the closet. She walks over and pulls off the pink shiny shirt off the hangar also pulling a black dress up skirt.

"Good idea", I smile. I help her put on her clothes on and I curl her brown hair. Then she points at my lipstick.

"Do you want to wear some", I ask her. She nods yes.

"Well hello my beautiful ladies", Blake says walking in from the bathroom.

"Hi da da", she says.

"Happy Birthday pumpkin", Blake tells her. We all finish getting ready and go downstairs. And the doorbell rings.

"It's party time", I say. We all go down stairs and I open the door. We greet everyone and let everyone come inside.

Then Madeleine walks over to the presents showing us she wants to open them. I sit down letting her sit on my lap and I grab the first bag for her. She takes out the tissue paper and screams.

"It's shiny pink sandals", I tell her with a smile. Next she walks to the big box and opens it.

"It's a kitchen", I tell her. She has a big smile on her face. Then she grabs our present. I help her because it's really big. She begins to open it. It's a doll house and she freaks out and already wants to play with it. Then Mark walks in with a pink and purple bike with training wheels on it. She runs to it with a big smile on her face. I think she is overwhelmed with all of her presents.

When she finishes opening all her presents we decide to eat cake. I put her in her high chair and put a piece of cake on her tray with a candle in it. She finally blows it out. Then she eats the cake with her hands and gets really messy with it all over her face. I get the camera and take a picture. Then I serve everyone else cake. It gets late so everyone decides to leave.

"Thank you all for coming", I yell out before shutting the door after the last person leaves. Then it's just Blake, Madeleine, dad, and I.

"She fell asleep I'll bring her upstairs to our room", Blake says carrying her upstairs. It's late so I tell Mark good night and I follow Blake upstairs.

Once we get up there Blake puts Madeleine in her bed. I change into my Nike sweats and one of Blake's t-shirts and get into bed. Then Blake climbs into bed cuddling with me.
