Chapter Eleven: Guns and Swear Words
It's been three days since I shifted and the rogues attacked. Tuesdays are always slow days for me. I am currently sitting in Algebra third hour tapping my foot and drumming my fingers. I'm not usually this restless but I can't seem to get that wolf out of my head.
After the rouges were taken care of our rescuers just ran away. When we met up with Lane, Mia and Derek they said someone helped them too because they were also attacked. They didn't have time to ask who it was because they ran in our direction before they could dust themselves off. The huge black wolf kept creeping his way into my mind and distracting me for anything I was doing. The one thing that really baffled me was his eyes. They were just like Max's.
Speaking of Max his grandmother passed away yesterday so he wasn't at school. I haven't seen him since Thursday and I'm starting to really miss him.
"Miss.O'Donnell are you paying attention?" Mr.Schneider asked me. I snapped my eyes towards him and he gave me a stern look. Everyone's eyes were on me. How embarrassing is that?
"Yes of corse Mr.Schneider. I was just thinking about that really tough problem you gave me on Friday as a birthday gift. I think I finally solved it." I had solved the problem within the hour but I was so excited about my birthday I forgot to show him. I guess this is a good time to whip it out.
"Great! Why don't you show the class." He said motioning towards the black board. I sighed.
"Okay." I got up and walked towards the board. Grabbing the chalk I began to write out the problem. It took me five minuets to finish the problem because I had to show all my darn work.
"Very good. No is everyone writing this down? It will most likely be on your final." He asked the class. I made my way back to my seat and when I sat down Mia leaned towards me.
"What on your mind Bea?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I'll tell you later." I said not wanting to get into more trouble. I told her I had been really missing Max at lunch and she just nodded. I could tell she was trying to hold back a smile but I was really confused why? Was there something she knew about Max that I didn't. Or did she just find my misery funny?
The day dragged on and on and it didn't get any more exciting after that. By the end of the day I was ready to explode with boredom.
"Hey Bea do you want to go for a run with me?" Dom said popping his head into my bedroom. A run sounds perfect right now.
"Yeah I'll be down soon." I said getting up off my bed. He nodded and then left. I grabbed my sports bra, shorts and a tank top then went to the bathroom to change.
When I got down stairs Lane and Derek were standing there. Great more boys.
"Hey Bea!" Lane said bouncing over to me. I rolled my eyes but smiled.
"Hey looser." I sad punching his shoulder lightly. He pretended to look hurt but then smiled.
"Okay let's go kids." Dom said opening the door and walking out. I followed the boys out the door.
We started off with a nice jog but soon I was going full throttle. I had so much energy trapped inside me that it all just exploded at once. Then I had a good idea. Why not shift? I had gotten the hang of shifting quickly on Sunday. In mid stride I shifted and then took off not missing a beat.
By the end of the run I had beat the boys home and decided to take a shower. Shifting back I walked upstairs and turned on the hot water. My muscles were sore but it was satisfying.
I stood in the shower for thirty minuets before getting out. Mum and Dad were at the pack house attending to something about the rogues so dinner was on me. The boys were staying which meant I hand to make more food. So Mac and Cheese out of the box it is!
I made four boxes knowing how much the boys eat and then called them to come get their food. Somehow they played COD while eating so I cleaned up their bowls when they were finished and then watched them play.
I feel asleep to guns and swear words. I woke up to someone carrying me. I was still very tired but I could feel small tingles on my back. I was laid gently on my bed and then felt some more tingles on my forehead. Hm Dom is being especially nice tonight. With that I drifted back to sleep dreaming about Max.
