Chapter Ten: Eyes
*Recap*
*Stop.* Mum said. Dom and I came to an abrupt stop and Mum began to smell the air.
*Rogues. Can you smell that?* She asked. I tilted my head back like she did and smelt the air. It smelled dangerous and filthy. We all stood facing different directions smelling the air.
*Their close.* Dom said. Then out of the bush catapulted a brown wolf with matted fur and sharp teeth.
Holy monkey balls and crackers. We're under attack.
Dom threw the Rogue off of him but two more jumped out in front of me and three jumped out in front Mum.
Kira instinctively jumped in front of Mum and showed her teeth.
"Kira what the hell are you doing?" I asked her.
"Protecting our mom." She said. Dom was behind us growling.
"Bea, just let Kira take over. She knows what to do a little bit better than you." Dom said. I nodded.
"I know." I said. The Rouges were circling us.
"Mum once we clear a path for you run and get dad. Your probably fastest and you know where to find dad." Dom said. We all agreed and then Kira started to take over again.
Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. This is happening. Holy sith. What am I going to do. I hope Kira knows what she's doing. What if something bad happens.
Before I could think of anything else a rogue jumped at me. Kira charged straight for him. We collided and she bit his neck. We were surprisingly strong. We landed with the rogue in our mouth and shook him. Kira threw him agains a tree.
Wow. This is so violent. Another wolf lunged for my back but Kira moved us just in time. I felt kind of helpless because Kira was basically in control but at the same time I was glad.
"Bea I need you to focus as well it doesn't help having all your thoughts running into my thoughts." Kira said.
"Oh sorry." I said sheepishly.
Mum never got the chance to run because out of the corner of my eye I saw Mum and Dom wrestling with a rogue each. There were five still standing. Dom finished off the rogue that was on top of him and Mum did the same. Now there are thee. I wasn't really paying attention when the biggest rogue attacked me. He pinned me to the ground and snarled in my face. His breath stunk like a skunk. Gross. His eyes were a gross yellow. Kind of like rotting teeth.
"Well well. We have Mr.O'donnells family here boys." The rogue said. I'm guessing he's the leader of this dare I say "pack". "It's a shame we have to kill them. This ones a pretty little one." He sneered in my face. I snapped at him.
Mum and Dom were both pinned also. The odds were definitely not in our favor. The "Alpha" bit my shoulder and then picked me up and threw me into a tree. I hit it with my stomach knocking the wind out of me. I landed on the ground and tried to get up. Before I could get up he bit my hind leg and dragged me in front of Mum and Dom.
"Now you can watch your family crumble." He said. My leg and shoulder were throbbing with pain. Before he could do anything else Kira did a quick move and bit his neck. He snarled and shook me off but it gave me enough time to get up.
"Sneaky are we?" he said. I just growled. "By the looks of it you just shifted tonight huh?" He was trying to distract me. I snarled and lunged at him. My leg hurt a lot but Kira pushed through the pain for us and quite quickly had the "Alpha" pinned.
He looked at me and let out a low growl. His eyes shifted towards my right and I looked just in time to be tackled off of him by the first wolf that tried to attack me.
"Damn we didn't throw him hard enough." Kira said. We were now pinned underneath him. The "Alpha" took his time getting up and shaking off the dirt. Then he stalked towards me.
Oh shit. Oh shit. Now I'm about ready to shit my pants if I were wearing any. Mum and Dom had been struggling against the rogue on top of them but it seemed like they weren't making much progress.
The "Alpha" smacked me across the face leaving a bloody claw mark on my cheek. I'm glad it wasn't my eye but it hurt like hell. I tried not to make a sound as he bit my shoulder once again. He picked me up and threw me over Mum and Dom. This time I didn't hit a tree but I didn't need to because hitting the ground hurt a lot more than last time.
He was back on top of me and this time he wasn't going to let me out of his grip. He was snarling at me and showing his teeth.
"You can die knowing you were defeated by my pack." And with that he opened his mouth. I closed my eyes because I didn't want to see him come closer. In the instant I closed my eyes a very nice sent filled my nose and it felt like all the weight had been taken off my chest. I opened my eyes and noticed the "Alpha" was gone. What?
I looked around still smelling the mesmerizing sent. Mum and Dom weren't pinned anymore either. That's when I saw two identical dark brown wolves taking care of the other rogues. Weird. They smelled like they were from our pack and they had a very high authority.
I heard another snarl and looked to my right. I saw a very very large black wolf on top if the "Alpha" he was saying something to him but before the "Alpha" could answer he bit his neck making a loud snapping noise.
"Mate." Kira said.
"What?" I asked. Great she's probably acting up again.
"Mate. That big black wolf is our mate." She said. "He can sense it too." And as if he was reading my mind his huge head turned in my direction.
One thing that blew my mind other than his size was his eyes. He had the same exact eyes as...Max?
