Chapter One:Back to School
"Sweetheart wake up. It's your first day of school! Dom is already eating breakfast." My moms happy voice filled my ears. She pushed away the curtain to my french sliding doors and let the sunlight invade my room. My mom moved to my bedside and kissed my forehead.
"Do I have to?" I asked in a child like voice. She nodded and left me in my room by myself.
I laid in bed for a little bit longer before I tossed the big white comforter off my legs and made my way to the french doors. I slid both of them open all the way and stepped out into the humid air. Since school had gotten out last year till now I like to watch the sun rise in the morning because my room faces the east.
I sat Indian style in the lounger and took in a deep breath.
"Morning pumpkin." My dad's large frame came through the door. I smiled at him and patted the spot next to me.
"Hi." I said. I leaned into his chest and faced the sun that was peaking out over the horrizon.
"Are you ready for your first day?" He asked. I shook my head yes. "I hope it will be a good year for both you and Dom." I nodded again.
"But then next year I'll be all by myself." I said in a monotone.
"That's true but you wont have to worry about that for awhile." He kissed the top of my head. I watched as the sun came more than half way over the horizon now. "Come down for breakfast soon. Mom made waffles." He rubbed my arms and got up.
"Okay." I said as he slipped back inside. My tummy growled making me smirk. I got up and went to the adjoined bathroom in my bedroom. I threw my cloths into the hamper and got into the shower.
I let my hair air dry while i got dressed in skinny jeans and a white button up shirt with a blue silk cami underneath. I decided on a pair of white flats for my feet. I grabbed the book I was currently reading (Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie) and my glasses then hopped down the stairs.
I was greeted by the smell of waffles and bacon. My mom was wearing an apron with blue birds on it. She enjoys small and cute things much more than an average person. I smiled at her and sat down opening my book to where I last left off.
I turned the page and my mom set a waffle with some bacon on my plate. I put my book down and started cutting up the waffle into bite size pieces.
"So ready for the first day of school Bea?" My brother Dom asked. I looked at him over my glasses.
"Sure. I just hope this year your friends will back off a little." I continued cutting up my waffle. Last year his friends were constantly trying to talk to me or hang out with me but I just wanted my privacy.
Dom laughed and said, "So do I." I nodded and laughed with him.
After breakfast I brushed my teeth and grabbed my deflated back pack. That wont be deflated for very long. Kira also decide to grace me with her presence by talking my ear off about finding a mate soon.
Yes Kira I know your excited about finding a mate this year but i also have to worry about my academics too. I don't want to get behind.
I know Bea but it would be amazing if we found our mate soon! Then you don't have to worry about being alone senior year!!
Good point but I still don't want you talking off my ear about it during school please.
Oh alright alright.
I opened the passenger side of Dom's car and hopped in. He wasn't in the car yet but I heard him walking towards the door. My parents offered to buy me a car when I got my license last summer but I said no because I never go anywhere plus Mia my only other friend was in Costa Rica with her family the entire summer.
Dom got into the drivers side and started the car. He gave me a sideways glance and then backed out of our driveway.
"What was that look for?" I asked giving him a sideways glance. He laughed and shook his head.
"Nothing just seeing if you were alright." I gave him a questioning look. "Cause it the first day and all.." He continued. I nodded.
"Wait why? It's just the first day if school." I asked laughing. He smiled at me again and I watched the side of his face. He had such a strong jaw and perfect skin. He was pretty attractive.
"You know I think you matured over summer break...physically." He said looking straight ahead. I started to giggle.
"Really Dom? Please elaborate for me." I gave him a goofy look and his cheeks got red. He was always shy when he talked about me I found it cute because at school he was all jock boy.
"Well...like you...are taller?" He said rubbing his neck. "And cur..vi..er.." By now his face was completely red and he was looking everywhere but me.
"Dom stop embarrassing yourself. I'm still plain old me." I said. He calmed down and finally looked at me. I punched his cheek and he smiled all big and happy like a little boy on Christmas.
"So are you going to get your own car yet?" He asked making casual conversation.
"Nah I don't need it." I said waving my hand. He sighed.
"Your so....con..ser..va..tive." He said trying out the big word. I shook my head and looked out the window. The trees were still thick and we were still driving down our gravel driveway.
"At least I'm not like Ashley." I said quietly. He of course heard me because we have the perks of a dog.
Hey I am not a dog.
Sorry Kira I wasn't thinking about it.
Yeah yeah it's not the first time you have called me a dog.
I snorted and Dom gave me a weird look. I shook my head.
"Just talking to Kira." He nodded and continued merging onto the highway.
After 15 minuets on the highway and singing songs with Dom that include I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry we merged off the highway and drove through town.
When we pulled up to the high school I immediately spotted Dom's group of friends and my make shift group of friends until Mia came.
Dom parked the car and shut it off. He looked at me with a lazy smile.
"Ready?" He patted my back rather hard and opened his door.
"As I'll ever be." I said as I opened my door and slid out of the SUV.
"Dom!" His flock instantly started calling. He waved and grabbed my hand pulling me towards his friends. I saw a new girl standing among them she was giving me a dirty look. Well there's no point in trying to talk to her clearly.
"Hey man!!" Derek said slapping his back. "Hey Bea." I gave him a small waved and tried out my smile. He beamed at me and then was butted out of the way by Lane.
"He babe how was your summer." Lane asked. He was like the hopeless romantic of the group but he never stayed with on girl for a long time. He had longer hair but not to his shoulders long. It was bleach blonde and he had the signature blue eyes to go with his baby face.
"Good how was yours?" I asked looking at a misplaced curl on top of his head.
"Good. But I wish I could have seen you more." He said leaning closer. That curl was really get on my nerves. I reached up and he bent lower almost know exactly what i was trying to do. I patted down the curl and saw the new girl glaring at me over Lane's shoulder.
"There all better." I said. He smiled at me and studied my face.
"Hey Lane stop flirting and get over here." Derek called. He gave me one last look before going over by them all. The new girl was still starring me down but then her focus went behind me and her face became smug and seductive. I looked over my shoulder and saw Max getting out of his SUV with the twins.
The infamous twins, Drew and Seth, and their older brother Max are the Alpha male and female's sons. Max being the oldest son will be the next Alpha and he is almost old enough to take the leadership. I personally think he is too care free and reckless to be Alpha anytime throughout high school but I'm sure when the task is at hand he will shape up. Hopefully.
"Bea!!" The twins came catapulting towards me and knocked me over. They were pinching my cheeks and my nose.
"Hi guys!" I smiled at them and they beamed back at me.
"We missed you so much! I can't believe we spent a whole summer away from each other." Seth said.
"We were Bea deprived." Drew said. I rolled my eyes at how dramatic they were being we only talked in school. I pushed them off me but neither of their 6'2 frames budged. I sighed and patted their heads.
"So are you like the group whore or whatever?" The new girl asked. She was looking down at me. The boys all turned around. Dom started for her but Lane and Derek held him back. The twins stood up and stepped toward her. She had to cock her head back to look at their faces. I took my time getting up and brushing myself off. Standing with an arm on each twin I said,
"Why? Are you here to replace me? I'm sorry I haven't caught your name." I walked over to Dom and he smirked at me. "See him?" I pointed at Lane. She glared but looked. "He's a hopeless romantic. He would flirt with a flower if it could talk." Dom hugged me and whispered in my ear.
"Tell her your dating Derek." I looked over his should at Derek and he gave me a thumbs up and a wink.
"So are you fucking him?" She asked pointing at Dom. I scoffed
"Please I wouldn't stoop so low to fuck my own brother." She gave me a baffled look but tried to play it off as a disgusted face.
"I'm dating him." I pulled Derek to me by his shirt and he kissed my forehead. This was weird. She scoffed.
"What about those two twins?" She asked. I looked at them.
"Their my cousins." She stomped her foot.
"Yeah, well your still a fucking whore." With that she walked off and all the guys were ooohing at her. Dom let out a growl and she sped up her pace.
"That's the most I have ever heard you talk to someone." The twins said together. They tend to do that a lot. I laughed and let go a Derek's shirt.
"I kissed her head!" Derek danced circles around me. I rolled my eyes and then hear the five minuet bell ring.
"Bye guys. I'm going to go find Mia." I waved and started walking away. I noticed Max waving and watching me like an over protective brother. I rolled my eyes at him and he smiled.
This year is already starting off with drama but by the looks of it I can handle it.
