Chapter twelve: So Many Brick Walls
I woke up at the usual time and went to watch the sun rise. I brought my book out with me. There was this intriguing smell that I couldn't place my finger on.
"Morning honey." My mum said as she walked past my door. Nope not her.
"Morning." I called to her. Dom wasn't up yet so I took it upon myself to wake him up. As I opened the door I wasn't shocked to find him in his bed still but the smell hit me like a brick wall. Kira was fully awake and alert. I walked over to the bed to find Max. What? Am I missing something?
He began to move and I started to panic. I hoped like a gazelle over all of Dom's cloths and out the door. I leaned agains the wall and sighed. Why did I run away? I guess it would be creepy to wake up and find me staring at you. I am pretty creepy.
Before I knew it Max was walking out of the room and I didn't have anytime to hide. He looked straight at me and smiled. Next thing I know he's hugging me and Kira is on the verge of a heart attack. I felt tingles all over but I also felt safe.
"I missed you Bea." He said in to my hair. Realization kind of hit me like a brick wall. Max is my mate. Holy sith. What the hell. This is crazy. Out of this world.
"Your my..your my...my...mate." I stuttered. I was very happy but also very confused. He pulled away from the hug and looked very happy that I had realized this.
"Yes I am. Do you accept me?" He said still holding my shoulders. I was fully aware of all the tingles going up and down my arms and also fully aware of Kira screaming yes inside my head.
"Yes!" I said smiling wide. "So how long have you waited?" It was obvious he knew before me.
"I've known you were my mate since the beginning of last summer but I knew you didn't feel it yet so I decided to wait until you felt it. Everyone either figured it out themselves or the twins told them." He said letting go of my arms. I already miss the tingles.
"Wait you've known for how long?" I asked.
"Since last summer." He said nonchalantly. It kinda hit me like another brick wall. That FRIKEN long? Wow. I was so caught up in the moment I forgot we had school in an hour.
"Don't we have school?" I asked. He came out of his daze and nodded. "Well I'm going to go take a shower and I guess I'll see you at breakfast." Before I could walk away he grabbed my waist and crashed his lips into mine. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I slowly eased my way into the kiss like dipping my toe in the water.
"Well I see Bea has come to her senses and accepted." Dom said leaning on the staircase. I jumped out of my skin and backed up hitting my head against the wall.
"Ow." I said rubbing my head. Max laughed but gave it a kiss.
"Yeah she found me in your room." He said giving me a knowing look. I blushed bright crimson and looked at my feet.
"I'll leave you two alone." Dom said walking down stairs with a smile on his face.
"And I'm going to take a shower." I said. I turned on my heels and smacked my face right into the closed bathroom door.
"It seems like today is just not your day Princess." Max said laughing and walking over to me. He inspected my nose and then nodded. "Looks normal." I laughed.
"Okay I'm seriously going to take a shower now." Before I turned around Max stole another kiss and then gave me a lazy smile. I blushed and opened the bathroom door and the sight I saw felt like another brick wall hitting me in the face.
Two wolves were sitting in the bath tub looking straight at me.
"Uh Max?" I said warily. He came right away and then laughed. "Who are they?"
"It's the twins!" He said between laughs. Why is this so funny? The twins got up and walked over to me. They started licking my hands and jumping on me. I laughed and gave them each a hug.
"Why didn't you guys shift?" I asked them.
"Because we can't. Mom said whenever we fight we're not allowed to shift into human form until we make up." Drew said. I could tell just by his eyes.
This morning is very strange and all I really want to do is take a shower.
"Okay everyone please leave because I would love to take a shower with out an audience." I said shooing all the Hemmingtons out of the bathroom. Max laughed and escorted the twins out.
Finally I can take a shower without hitting another brick wall.
