We were met by two men, one I remembered gave Jughead his jacket. The same jacket that he wasn't wearing. Now I thought it was because he didn't want any of our friends to see, and that was probably true, but I thought it was also something deeper. Jughead didn't want to let his dad down, and I knew FP didn't want his son to end up like him. Anyone who knew Jughead, however, would know that he wouldn't be a no-good serpent gang member, he would be my no-good serpent gang member who used his wits to fight, not just his fists.

"I was wondering about when you said the Serpents had my back," He said, walking towards the pair. I kept my body close to his, seeking comfort from his presence as he spoke to the men in front of him. "Does that courtesy extend to a guy who's like my brother? And a man who's like a second father to me?"

The Serpent had long hair, and was tall. I knew that for my age, I was short, and Jughead was relatively tall, especially when standing next to me. But the guy that stood in front of us, a nose piercing making him look slightly more menacing, he towered over me.

"What do you need?" The man asked.

"Fred Andrews, my buddy's dad, was shot during a robbery at Pop's. The guy was in a black hood." Jughead explained. I was still unsure whether or not Jughead believed the Serpents had anything to do with this robbery and shooting. After learning that his father was involved with Jason Blossom, I guessed everyone thought that anything was possible. That meant Jughead only had the worst evidence to on.

"Serpents don't wear masks." The sidekick spoke up. This serpent had decided to stay by their motorcycles.

"Yeah, I get it. But some of those Serpents were working for Fred Andrews when, for reasons of his own, he decided to let them go." Jughead explained. I decided to make my small voice known from behind my boyfriend, choosing to back up J's point a little further.

"Maybe someone took it personally?" I questioned, not wanting to accuse these men of anything without the proper proof to go with it.

"You guys know every hidey-hole in town. Someone has to have heard something about what went down at Pop's." The tall man looked to be thinking over what we had said. Eventually, he agreed to look into it. The two departed as silently as we did, Jug taking my hand and leading me to the motorcycle. I asked nothing about where he was taking us, just sat, holding his body tightly as we sped away once more.

It turns out that he took us back to the hospital. We walked through the doors into the respectfully quiet corridors. It seemed that after the events of that morning, the town had gone quiet, everyone waiting for news on the well being of the popular town-man.

Upon walking down the corridor, I spotted Cheryl. My mind made no connection with any reason she would be here for Fred or Archie, so I called out to her. Cheryl stopped walking, so I kissed Jug's cheek and ran to her, giving her a hug and asking why she was here.
