Set on the table are different kinds of food - Korean fried chicken, ramen, drinks for the both of them and a blackforest cake with a "Happy 22nd Birthday in Advance My Mochi!" icing lettering. How sweet isn't it?
As usual, the park seems pretty peaceful - only a few people walking around, almost all of them are in their middle-ages already and some are still kids, who are running around. Looking around the view, it's still the same as before - the beautiful trees and flowers, the front view which is the clear sea water, it's nice to be here again.
Mina sat on the same bench they used when they came here before. While scrolling through her instagram's news feed, she felt someone poke her shoulder which made her flinch in surprise. She immediately turned around and saw Jimin, simply wearing a white polo, casual tan shorts, and white sneakers - the outift made him look like an angel.
"Hi there. Surprise Jiminie~" Mina greeted and pointed at the different kinds of food set on the table which for sure, got Jimin surprised.
"Happy 22nd birthday in advance!" She exclaimed in happiness. She stood up and engulfed him into a warm hug which he also did the same.
"Stay healthy and may your wishes come true." She added and pulled away from the hug. Jimin felt his eyes starting to itch as tears form on it due to his overwhelming feelings. But since he doesn't want to cry in front of her, he just shook his head and looked away for a second.
"Waaah, thank you so much." He replied and gave her his most genuine smile.
They both sat down beside each other and took their time to stare at the delicious food in front of them for a moment. Jimin had enough, words aren't enough to express how thankful he is to her. As much as he wants to just hug her tight and kiss her, he's afraid if she'll have a negative reaction.
"I'm so guilty. I'm not worthy enough for this surprise. You see, I only greeted you through text during your birthday but now, you even bought all these for advance, and... I'm really grateful." He smiled genuinely at her.
"Awww oppa, it's fine. It doesn't matter if you didn't give any gifts or surprises during my birthday. I understand you were busy that time. And hey, I still wear this." She replied and held the penguin necklace Jimin gave her several months ago. "This is still like a birthday gift though." She flashed him a smile.
"You still wear that, huh." He replied and looked at the cake. His genuine and warm smile turned into a teasing smirk which got her confused.
"Oh, really? Your Mochi?" He teased with a smirk displayed on his lips after seeing the icing lettering on top of the cake. Her jaw dropped and heat started creeping on her cheeks.
"Yah, that's your nickname in our text. Don't assume such things." She replied. She mentally applauded to herself for not stuttering.
"I'm really yours, though." He replied and winked at her. What the heck is he trying to do again? She thought.
"Excuse me, stop flirting." She rolled her eyes away from him. "Anyway, let's start eating? I'm hungry." She added and showed a sheepish smile.
"Sure, sure. Let's pray first?" He asked. With what he said, she got surprised, since she doesn't know his religion or she didn't see him being religious.
"I didn't know you believe in these things." She smiled. Honestly, she was quite anxious before because she thought their beliefs will be a hindrance between them. Since she's a Catholic, and although she wasn't certain of his religion, she thought he wasn't religious at all and doesn't care about those things, she was afraid that it might soon separate them.
"Hey, I was born Catholic, but I've never really cared about those things before. But when I met you and saw you pray, like every day and every night when we were still staying in the dance studio, I suddenly had the will to read the Bible again after a long time and yeah, I do think my faith in God is restored again, thanks to you." He smiled after saying those things, satisfied with his own answer.
"W-woah, you're welcome. And you're a Catholic too?" She asked and received a nod from him. Oh well, we're both Catholic. I guess us getting married isn't a problem. He smiled at the thought.
"So, let's pray." He replied. After they prayed, Mina let him think of his wish.
Dear Lord, I have a lot of wishes but I'll just state the important ones - I hope my hyungs and my dongsaengs are always healthy, I want the best for them, I hope none of us will get injured as well. For Got7, Twice, my squad, BigHit staffs and Bang PD-nim, my family, and other friends, I hope they'll always be safe and healthy, and also happy, always happy. Also to my Penguinari, the girl I love the most, I hope she'll always be bubbly and happy, and that she won't change what she is right now. Fighting!
"Done." He said and opened his eyes after his sincere wish. "Let's eat then!" She exclaimed enthusiastically.
While eating and enjoying the meal on the table, sometimes they would feed each other, and people around them found them really cute together. Even though they're not a real couple, for other people's eyes, they are, heck they look so cute and sweet together.
"Our collab is near, so I hope we have more time--" Jimin got cut off when a bubbly and cute voice interrupted them.
"Mina unnie?! Jimin oppa?!" Both of them turned around only to see an adorable, small, and pretty young girl, who, in their guess, is still under 10 years old. They both looked at each other before looking back at the young girl walking towards them excitedly.
"What brings you here, little girl?" Jimin asked and signalled the little girl to come closer.
"I... I just saw you guys and can I take a selfie with you?" The little girl politely asked. They looked at each other again and gave an are-you-sure-we-gonna-do-it look.
"Sure, sit between us." The little girl followed what Mina said, sitting between the two.
The little girl held her phone upwards, stretching her arms to get a good angle before taking a couple of shots.
"Thank you unnie, oppa. I really like you two being together. My older sister will be so happy to see this pic. Don't worry, we won't expose you guys. Fighting!" The girl exclaimed in happiness before running away from them - leaving the two idols blushing and hearts' fluttering.
"I guess us looking good together has indeed became a fact." He said and chuckled.
"Yeah, it's now a fact." With Mina's reply, an unexpected energy and sensation came rushing through his skin and veins - confidence.
He suddenly felt that he wants to confess to Mina now. He suddenly got confidence with what she just said and he won't let it slip this time. Rejected or not, he wants her to know that he loves her so much.
"Mina, I got something to tell you." He said while looking straight at her shining and beautiful eyes. "What is it, oppa?" She asked.
"I've been keeping this for quite long already and... I want you to know that I--" he got cut off when his phone started ringing - indicating a phone call. He sighed in annoyance and quickly picked up the call.
"Hello? Yes? Right now? B-but... fine, I'll be there in an hour." He ended the call and looked at her.
"I need to go. We need to practice." Her bright expression started to fade away as soon as she heard his reply.
"I brought my car. I'll bring you back to your dorm. Okay?" He asked.
"Okay."
