16. Coming Home

I smile as I FaceTime Brandon and the kids as I smile and blow them kisses.

"I missed you all so much"I said and blew them kisses

"We miss you mommy"My oldest Nia said

"Yeah we really do so much"My youngest Theo said with a pout

"Mommy misses you both so so much, why don't you go draw me pictures and whenever I get home you can show me them"I said with a smile

"Alright, See you"They said and blew me kisses before running off as it was just me and Brandon

"I really miss you so much, every single night"He said

"So do I, but hopefully after this they'll surrender and I'll be on my way home"I said with a smile

I looked at Brandon as he gives me a slightly sad smile as I seen him wiping away his tears

"What's wrong?"I asked

"I can't help but to think about–what if I get that call I wouldn't know how to take it..I–I don't know what I'd do without you what we would do without you "He said as I wiped away a falling tear of mine

"I promise you I'll make it home, I won't leave your side Brandon"I said as my voice lightly cracked as I put my hand up to the screen as he put his up also

"Please come home"He said before the call ended as I sighed wiping my eyes as my comrade Joshua came over and touched my shoulder

"You talked to your family too"He said and sat down

"Yeah, How is your Husband and kids?"I asked with a grin

"They're doing amazing they'll be even better when I get home, so how about you?"He asked

"Same, You know one thing though?"I said

"What is it?"He said

"We're making it home,war is not how we end"I said

-In battle-

We were fighting and shooting as bodies dropped one by one as we ran behind the tank shooting the enemies as we went by as we started to move in closer to their territory.

As we were walking through we got ambushed and we lost four people of ours as we ran and hid for cover shooting. I was shooting as I heard a yell.

"Ah–Shit!"I heard Joshua say as I looked down and he had a bullet hole in his chest as it was bleeding

I dragged him out of the way as I grabbed a piece of cloth from my pocket as I put it on the wound.

"Keep pressure on it! You are going home!"I said over the shots

I sat up shooting as bodies were dropping like flies as I was shot in the shoulder as I groaned in pain but kept shooting.

I wasn't giving up. It wasn't over for me at all, at least I hope it wasn't.

-2 weeks later-
-Brandon-

We waited for everyone to get off the buses full of soldiers as they all got off going to their families as everyone got off the bus.

The only person we didn't see was Y/n..

We looked around seeing it was Man and his kids holding a sign that said Joshua as he kept looking around.

Joshua was Y/n's friend. My heart started racing as I started thinking of the worst.

Before I knew it another bus pulled up.

First two people off were Y/n and Joshua as we engulfed Y/n as I kissed on her as the kids and her family hugged her crying.

"I told you I was coming home"She said with a smile

I just held her in my arms with happiness.
