I smiled as Lieutenant Arreaga and I had been cleaning the guns as we talked about this being our last war before returning home.

"When we get back, I can't wait to meet your parents I'm sure they're just as amazing as you"He said with a smile as I smiled back feeling my cheeks warm up before I looked down.

All these thoughts of the future always made me happy, but it always gave me that feeling of what If..what if there wasn't a future left for me.

What if this is my end, this could be it, my journey could all end right here right now, tomorrow or the next day could be the final count down for me but I'll never know until it happens.

"Y/n you alright?"He asked. "Yeah baby I'm fine I was just thinking about meeting your family how amazing that would be"I said with a fake smile

"They'll love you just like I do"He said with a smile before we snuck in a quick kiss.

"Hey Brandon I want to give you something just in case"I said as he looked at me "Don't say that-" "Brandon you never know, just please take this"I said and gave him a ring of mine as I held his hand for a while before finishing my work

[Final Day]

My squad and I were around watching to see where they were coming from as we stayed quiet until we heard a loud explosion as we were back to back.

Bullets flew as I fell in pain, as I felt like this was the end for me right here right now.

We were watching and waiting as we got a call.

"Lieutenant Arreaga! Lieutenant Y/l/n squad has been ambushed and need backup!"One of my guys said as my heart felt like it dropped.

We quickly made our way over airing it out killing the guys as we looked at all the bodies getting people aided as I looked for Y/n.

I walked over as I heard groaning and movement as I had my gun ready as I seen it was Y/in an alleyway with one of her guys Thomas as he was applying pressure to her wounds.

"It's alright stay awake come on stay awake– Lieutenant Arreaga!"He said as I quickly came over looking at her as tears formed as she smiled at me as I carried her to the medics as they got her on the stretcher.

I can't lose her not now and not ever.
