"So what now?" Logan asked after we get passed through the intestine-like tunnel. It didn't lead us to anywhere. It's just another cave, a very wide cave that looked like a cemetery. There were fluttering fireflies all around which somehow made the place bright.
"I think we're lost." Emma said as she attempted to walk ahead. "I can't see any signs of way out."
"But we entered in the right portal, didn't we?" I asked.
"Yes." Barry answered. "It's weird. I think I've been in this place before."
"Me too." Ayase said. "I think I know this place." She walked ahead and I could really say she's familiar to this place because even in the dark path, she knows where to walk.
We all followed Ayase. Took the steps her foot taked and made the turn her body maked, until we ended in a stagnant lake. Its water was black. In my sight, it looked like a dark night sky.
"What are you thinking, Ayase?" Barry sounded angry.
"It's the only way." Ayase replied, she looked desperate. It was only now I noticed how she looked so shocked.
"No. It's not the same thing. I could only get here through my thought. I never get here in actual before." Barry explained.
"Excuse me? What are you talking about?" May asked.
"I used to have dreams. Dreams that happened in this place." Barry started. "Whenever I want to return or wake up, I always jumped into the lake and I will find myself in my bed. I never even thought this place is real."
"This lake is another portal, a way going to a place controlled by a god of the Underworld." Emma explained. She was on her knees near the lake, leaning over to see the black water. "Maria Makiling never said anything about this. She just said to enter at the portal that will get us to Mt. Malinao."
Everyone looked so helpless. We were just staring at each others. Suddenly, Ayase walked towards the lake.
"Don't do it Ayase!" Barry bellowed.
Ayase didn't listen. She dipped her right hand in the water and stirred it like she was just playing.
The water roared. It came to a boil. Everyone move backwards away from the lake.
"I knew it!" Ayase shouted with joy. "When the black water disappeared in the surface, it will show us a wide stone well with crystal-clear water mirroring the image of the forest at Mt. Malinao. It will last for 10 seconds. We will jump inside the well as quick as we can."
"What will happen if the black water appeared while someone is still around?" Emma asked.
"Usually, I will wake up from my dream." Ayase answered.
"I don't want to find out about it." Barry said. "Let's get ready when the stone well appeared."
