"This is how you remind me of what I really am" How You Remind Me-Nickleback

My mind was full of thoughts of Henry. I felt...guilty. I couldn't shake the feeling that if he had pinned me, I would have become one of those creatures. At least I can kinda repay the debt by caring after his daughter, I just prefer she doesn't know the story...not yet anyway.

Bella and I entered my small garage. There parked was my pride and joy, a black hummer, MY black, hummer. I quickly made my way to where I kept survival supplies, bags, and weapons. Bella walked in soon after me and her unique, blue, eyes looked surprised and excited.

"Wow, you're certainly prepared."

"Yeah, I guess you could say that," I replied, "now grab a backpack and just fill it with as much as you can carry. Then we can be on our way."

"Oh, if we need weapons, we should make a stop at my house."

"Oh, good thinking Bells," I added.

"That's what my dad used to call me," she whispered and she started crying. Crap, I didn't mean to do anything to make her cry.

She grabbed a backpack and started packing it and I stayed silent while she sobbed and cried.

"So, um, where do you live?" I asked her.

"What kinda question is that?! Everyone knows where I live, in the giant mansion nearby, we're practically neighbors, I remember, when you used to drive by, my dad would always have something to say about you." She spat, looking annoyed, as she shoved some weapons into one of the bags.

"He talked about me?"

"Yeah, he always had something to say about you, Jackson, sometimes good, but mainly just comments, why do you guys hate each other anyway?" she questioned me.

"I don't know, kid, I really don't know." I answered, moving on to pack food and water in my hummer.

"Whatever, so did you even try to help him? Or did you just turn and run like everyone else?" She interrogated me, "because that makes you just as irresponsible, and just a big of a coward as the mayor. You're no bett-"

"Watch your mouth Bell-"

"Check your self before you wreck yourself, Jackson, you know it's true" she cursed.

"Whatever, little brat," I muttered and she pointed the barrel of the gun to my back.

"No, tell me, did you try to save my father?!" she exclaimed.

"Please don't shoot me, please, I swear, I did, but the vampire got to him first, I tried to break up the fight it's jus-" She loosened the barrel against my back a little, but not completely.

"Really?" Before she could say anything else, I turned around and switched the position of the gun. I had now pointed the gun to her.

"Dammit!" Bella cursed.

"Whatever, let's just get out of here, I've got everything packed. Don't you dare pull a gun on me again, or you can walk to find your dad."

She grabbed her gun quickly, but didn't raise it to me, instead she held out her hand, "fine, I call a truce until we get to the woods."

"Then let's be on our way," I said as we made our way to either side of the hummer. I opened the door and got inside. Bella did the same and I started the engine. She reached for her seat belt and I swatted her hand. She let go of it immediately.

"Ow! What the hell?!"

"Sorry, but if we ride through a crowd of vampires and you need to escape, the seat belt only holds you back. Bells I could have just saved your life!"

"Safety first?! What if a vampire jumps in front of the car and you come to a fast stop and I go flying through the windshield?!"

"You're wrong there, I would hit the thing without a second thought, so no seat belts." I backed out of the open garage door and started driving towards her mansion.

I drove to her stupid mansion, and she started crying as soon as we got there. She really needed to learn how to hold it together, or I was going to lose my stuff.

"Look, Bella, just tell me where the stuff is, and I'll get it. You can sit here and cry all you like, but I don't have time for that." I know it seemed bad, and selfish, but I couldn't just wait around until she got better and stopped crying.

"It's in the safe, in the garage, just grab whatever you need."

"Okay." I made my way towards the mansion, and broke into the garage. I looked around, and I saw his Jeep that he had. I remembered when he first got that, I was the first one to ride in it. I felt bad, remembering that he was gone, but I had no time to be sad. I found the safe, which was open, surprisingly, and everything was in there. Weird. I grabbed all the weapons I could carry. I took one last look at the Jeep, while carrying all of the weapons in a bag.

"Goodbye, Henry. I-I'm sorry," I whispered. What was I doing? Talking to a car, I was crazy.

I made my way back, quickly to my Hummer, and that's when it hit me. I couldn't do it. I couldn't leave Bella.
