Chapter 8:
(Day 2)

As we begin to walk down Shane's driveway I notice that there is another car there that hasn't been there previously.

At the moment my mind is in a good place, calm and relaxed, the drink of the gods in my hands, my precious monster.

I've managed to successfully Down half of it on the way back, Ryland sipping on an iced coffee of some sort from Starbucks.

I enjoyed the walk, it had been calming, the heat of los Angeles beating down on me.

As we walk into the front of the house, the pool to our left, I allow myself to relax, my cousins are probably up already, and I really don't want to face them.

"Are you sure that you are going to be okay?" Shane asks me as he clambers into his jeep, Tyler and Chad sat in the backseat.

"Yeah, I'll be fine"  I say honestly, my red and black chequered backpack perched on my shoulders, the chains and studs being promo at and lit up in the heat.

"You don't want a lift to the station or anything?" Shane asks, the concern clouding in his face.

"I'm fine, I have my phone in my pocket and you have my number" I proclaim, causing him to shake his head, the nervousness still clear in his voice.

"Stay safe Raven" he says, biting his lip, before I begin walking up the driveway.

I had told him that I'd take the train to the shopping centre, I hadn't told him the reason behind why I was to do this, but he'd pretty persistent of telling me to get in the car with him.

I'd eventually got him to allow me to take the train, and I mean, there was no way I was getting in a car.

In my backpack sits a portable who charger and a lead, as well as some hairspray, which I always carry with me, along with a brush, my money and my mums card, and a bottle of formula and monster, the formula hidden inside of a makeup bag to make it unseen.

My earbuds are placed into my ears the second I get out of the driveway and I begin my walk. I walk a lot quicker than I did yesterday, the backpack being the only thing delaying my descent.

The train ride was okay, and I managed to get to the mall before Shane and Ryland, Shane calling me from inside his car through his hands free set-up.

I'm currently sat on a bench inside of the shopping centre, listening to music and keeping an eye out for Shane.

I know he said we were meeting up with some of his friends who are already here, but he didn't tell me what they looked like or where they were, so I'm forced to air in boredom.

It isn't a very busy shopping centre, I see the occasional teenager and odd look from old people, but other than that it seems okay here.

The one that I've noticed about old people is that some love me and others hate me.

The ones that mostly hate me are the religious ones, saying I should look more faithful and that God didn't give me these holes in my face, referring to my piercings, none really say anything to me in person, a few have, but most just say it to their husbands or friends. I mean, I'm not stupid, I can hear them.
