Chapter 9:
My arm is currently linked with garrets, the both of use walking to the train station.
It is quite a while from where we are, as I had earlier taken a bus, however none seem to be in the area for another forty-five minutes, or at least in the area we are that would take us to the train station.
My legs are hurting a bit, I must admit, but I won't say anything because what is there to say, I have to walk to get where I need to go, so I suck it in and continue walking.
Suddenly I feel my feet become soaked with water and look down to see that I have stepped straight into a puddle of trash water, and quickly shake it off my feet.
However the damage has been done, I'm wearing canvas shoes and now, due to wing wet, their most likely going to rub.
//
Not even ten minutes later I feel my feet rubbing across the back of my feet, causing me to slow down and attempt to walk on one foot, although it doesn't really help as their both drenched.
"You need some help there?" Garret asks me, turning to me as I start walking in an even weirder fashion.
"No, I'm fine" I say.
"What've you done to your feet?" He asks me, causing me to point to them, and then point to a puddle to the side of the street, not the same one, but I think it gets the point across.
"Want a piggyback?" He asks, causing me to look up at him incredulously.
"I'm serious!" He says, laughing as he speaks.
//
Not even five minutes later and I'm sitting atop garrets back, my SnapBack on my head, my cat ear hoodie pulled over my head, and my legs wrapped around him, my head down low as I try to avoid the rain that's falling steadily.
Garrets walking pretty fast, faster than a walk but not quite a run, he doesn't have a hood or a hat so I try my best to put my head over his to shield him from the worst of the torrential weather.
The rain is pretty heavy, but I've also heard, from my extensive time of being bored and watching documentaries whilst I played on my phone, that America has heavy rainfalls but only for a short period of time and then it's sunny again.
I'm not sure if a specific state was mentioned, but I can hope it's true, as I can feel my body getting colder as the sky becomes darker.
//
Me and garret stepped onto the train about ten minutes ago, and it has to be just our luck that sun creeps it's way out from the dark clouds within minutes of us finding seats next to each other.
"Raven!" Garret explains, causing me to look up at him and see that he has a phone in his hand.
He must sense the confusion in my expression, as he dutifully stick the phone onto the front-facing camera, and promptly wraps an arm around my shoulders, his wet hair sticking up, a goofy grin prominent on his face, I mirror his expressions, my grin a little less goofy, and watch as he takes the photo.
The brown part of my hair I ringing wet, but thankfully I managed to save my fringe from disaster, I hate getting it wet, it makes me look terrible, especially since I don't like moving my fringe from my face so I wind up looking just like a drowned rat.
