Virgil grumbled under his breath, Thomas's servant left him and Roman went to join some of the already training Knights. Virgil was confused on why he had to be there so he sat on a bench and watched Roman, who was yelling at Knights for their stance, which Virgil didn't understand either. The Knights all looked useless but Virgil took note that Roman actually knew what he was doing and wasn't lying when he said he's a knight in one of Thomas's videos. Virgil was just getting comfortable when an overly excited knight made his way over the the bench and sat next to him.
"Where's Patton this morning?" He asked. Virgil startled when he realized the knight was talking to him.
"Umm. We left him sleeping in the castle. He had a long night sewing for Logan." Virgil shrugged trying to show the knight he isn't interested in talking.
"That sounds like Patton. Did you know that last week he stayed behind after training to polish not only Roman's sword but everyone else's as well. We keep telling him he's only Roman's servant but he's so instant on help everyone. All the Knights love him. Oh I forgot. I'm Knight Ansel. You are?"
"Anxiety." Virgil grumbled.
"Anxiety? That's an odd name." Ansel said.
"Angel could you come help me out!" Roman called. He knew that Virgil doesn't appreciate being called Virgil around strangers and makes it his job to call Virgil, Angel when out in public. It's nicer than Anxiety.
"I've got to go Ansel. See you." Virgil got up quickly and almost sprinted to Roman. "Yes Roman?"
"Nothing I just noticed you looked uncomfortable. I also didn't like the way he was looking at you." Roman said sending a glare over to the knight who was watching Virgil from the bench.
"Well..." Virgil wanted to say he didn't need Roman intervening but he honestly was right and Virgil was uncomfortable. "Thanks Roman."
"Now let's make it look like I actually needed you for something or he'll get suspicious." Roman said thinking. His face lit up when he figured it out. "Come on I'll teach you how to use a sword. The other Knights say I love helping Patton learn. It makes sense if I teach you as well."
"No." Virgil shook his head. "I'm not learning how to use a sword."
"Yes you are! I've decided!" Roman grabbed a fake sword from the training rack the tossed it to the anxious trait. "Copy my stance ok. I'll fix it." Roman stood with his legs shoulder length apart with his weight on his back leg. Virgil did his best to copy the position while holding the sword in a way he's seen Roman do multiple times before. "Good. Now let's practice moving in the stance ok." The two of them spent the rest of the afternoon walking/running while holding the sword with Roman occasionally making a jump at Virgil with his sword which Virgil easily blocked. Once they were done Virgil was panted and his make up had been sweat off. He lay on the ground exhausted and groaned.
"My insides are burning." Virgil complained. Roman chuckled and sat down next to Virgil.
"You did great though! You're a natural at this." Roman said grabbing Virgil and lifting him up. "Now come on let's head back to my chambers and clean up. Your face is a mess." Virgil just groaned and let Roman carry him back into the castle. They found Logan and Patton walking the hall outside Roman's bedroom, looking for them.
"He's adorable!" Patton cried out.
