This will be an interesting chapter here, and part of you already knows know what’s happening. What will happen? Well let’s see.

I woke from a nightmare, my heart racing, sweat rolling down my forehead and my head pounding. I clutched my blanket tightly and tried calming myself down. Count to ten, count to ten. Honestly, I’d don’t know why I was scared. I know I had a nightmare, but I can’t remember what it was even about. The fear I had in my dream still echoed through my mind, telling me that I was in danger. There was a threat near, something was coming. But I don’t know what!

I sighed and laid back down on the couch. I turned over onto my side so I could face the living room. A dark silhouette of something was sitting very close to me and jumped up over the couch to get away quickly. I hit the ground with a smi-loud thud and pressed my back against the couch. I waited a second before peaking over the back of the couch and breathed a sigh of relief.

"P/n, you scared me." I climbed back onto my sleeping spot and looked at my pet deer. He was just sitting there looking at me expectantly. I tilted my head at him to ask what, and he tilted his head back. That got me nowhere.

"Y/n? you ok?"

I looked up at my mom who was half asleep, holding a baseball bat ready to strike and had her pink fuzzy robe and slippers on. She looked around the room for whatever intruder she thought there was. "I’m fine mom, I just fell off the couch." I reassured her and had her lower the bat. Mom nodded and yawned. "I thought I heard some of those strange sounds again."

I nodded. For the years I’ve lived here, in this reality at least, I’ve woken up to hearing strange sounds, a weird light somewhere in the woods, and the ground rumbling as if an earthquake had happened far away. There’s been many stories about what it was: UFOs, airplanes, gases, earthquakes and the northern lights at the same time, ghosts or even a creature that lurked at night just waiting to attack. I didn’t believe any of them then, but now I think something has to be up. I just ruled it off as normal since it’s been happening for years now. I haven’t given it a second thought.

"They seemed stronger this time though." She set the bat down, leaning it against the wall, and sat down next to me. P/n just kept looking at me, a bit creepy now since he doesn’t seem to be blinking. Uhhh, spooky.

"What time is it?" I yawned. She looked at the clock and rubbed her eyes. "Uhhh, 4:30. I’m not staring the day now." Mom gave me a kiss on the forehead and then stood back up to start walking to her room. "Good night y/n, part two. Sweet dreams."

"Good night mom." I said to her as she walked away, dragging the baseball bat on the floor lazily. I smiled and then laid back down. I covered myself up with my blanket and shut my eyes trying to get comfy. But the hairs on my neck started to stand up again and I peaked open my eye. P/n was still starring at me.

"Go to sleep." I told him and turned over so my back was to him. P/n nuzzled my back with his muzzle and whined. I groaned and sat up looking at him. "What is it? It’s too early and y/n wants her sleep." P/n just sat there looking at me. A minute ticked by and I flipped back onto my side facing him just in case he did something else. Nope, he just nuzzled me again and I sat back up. "P/n…" I groaned and rubbed my eyes. He tilted his head, his ears perking up. I tilted my head, also but this time something different happened. P/n stood up and went to the window. I decided to get up and see what he was looking at. I pulled aside the curtains and looked outside.

The ground vibrated a little, stronger than normal. The weird ringing that was usually faint was louder and the light that shown was really bright. It was coming from the woods, kinda where the mystery shack would be now that I think of it. "Huh, that’s odd." I mumbled and looked closer. The light died, the sound stopped and the ground went still. P/n then trotted over to his little bed that I had to put out in the living room with me and laid down. I shook my head, “What a weird deer.”

The next time I woke up it was morning. Mom made breakfast, my favorite, and Shawn decided to play with it instead of eat it. Pacifica was sleeping in, so I decided to head to the mystery shack alone. P/n had wandered off into the woods again, so I’m pretty sure he’ll be gone for at least half the day, so that gives me a couple hours before he starts fallowing me around everywhere again.

It was still pretty early in the day when I came running up to the shack. Dipper and Mabel where outside throwing water balloons around and Stan was sitting on the porch in his business attire drinking a can of what I assume was soda or pit cola. "Y/n! Hey!" Dipper waved to me and Mabel through a ballon at him which knocked him down. "I’m the champ!" She yelled at through some at me. I dodged them all but caught one and tossed it right back at her. It hit her in the chest and she clutched her soaking wet sweater. "Ahhh! I’ve been hit! Tell my story!" She dramatically fell to the ground and fake died. I laughed at her and helped her up.

"Y/n, think fast!" Dipper yelled and threw a water balloon at me. I caught it but it broke in my hand, getting me all wet. "Hey!" I whined with a smile and Mabel handed me a water balloon. Dipper's smile faulted and he took off running. We chased him down as their great uncle laughed at Dipper's demise. "Better run kid!" He shouted as Dipper tripped and got pelted by water balloons.

We laughed at him as he whipped his eyes clear. "Glade to see your in a better mood today."

I nodded and smiled, even though I did want to tell him what happened last night and ask him about weird lights around here. He’s never mentioned them before, so maybe he doesn’t even know about it. I’ll ask him later, when we're all dried off and calmed down.

"You wanna hang out today y/n?" Mabel asked tossing a balloon to me. I caught it and nodded. "Sure, lazy weekend time!" I yelled and threw the ballon at Dipper, who didn’t expect it and got hit. Stan laughed at Dipper as we sat up and wiped the water from his eyes. "Lazy Saturday sounds like my kind of day. It’s what weekends are for after all, doing dumb things." He said and nodded at me. What I didn’t realize was him talking me was a distraction.

"Dumb things forever!" The twins shouted as they picked up a bunch of water balloons and tossed them all onto me. They broke when they hit me, although some missed and just bounced on the ground. I landed on my butt in the dirt all soaking wet. Mabel and Dipper High-fived each other and laughed.

"Thanks grunkle Stan for distracting y/n! You’re not just a great uncle." Mabel held up her ice pop to him as a cheers. I’ll get them both back for this, just watch. "The greatest!" Dipper finished Mabel's sentence, twin thing, and they both threw water balloons at Stan.

"Whoa Hey," he stood up off the couch and laughed. "Alright, Alright. I  tell ya, it’s unnatural for siblings to get along as well as you do."

"Don’t worry, we got plenty of summer left to drive each other crazy." Mabel shook Dipper by his shoulders and he shoved her, a water balloons breaking on her face. I took this chance to hit them both with the water balloons. "Whoa hey, unfair!" They laughed splashing some of the water dipping off of them onto me. I joined them in the moment of carefree laughter.

But the voice of Stan didn’t sound as joyful or happy. He sounded remorseful. We all heard it and looked at him confused. "Plenty of summer left…..Y/n I need to talk to the kids about something." He told me as a kind way of saying get out of here for a minute. I nodded then was about to walk off but Dipper asked Stan, "Hang on why? What is it Grunkle Stan?"

"Well, it’s complicated…. Family business…" Stan rubbed the back of his neck and looked at his niece and nephew, then at me when the mention of it being a family problem came up. A cold chill circled around like the eyes of a predator stalking me. No one else seemed to notice it, so I brushed it off.

"Stalked by something the man of mystery doesn’t trust."
