She was literally speechless and stunned for a minute or two. The solitaire diamond was sparkling against the light. She knew it's worth a fortune. Pero ang hindi niya lubos maisip kung paano iyon napunta sa daliri niya. She stared on it and then back to Anton who was just observing her reaction.

She tried to compose herself. So sobrang daming mga bagay na pumasok sa isip niya kanina ay bigla na lang siyang na blangko ngayon. Then she gently tried to remove the ring from her finger. Pero hindi iyon natuloy nang pigilan siya ni Anton.

"Anton, hindi-, " she was about to protest but Anton cut-off what she was about to say.

"Again, Rebecca, I am not taking NO for your answer. Beat me, sweetheart, I could do the most incredulous thing if I want to. And mind you, you are still the number one in my list." He said without losing eye contact and without letting go of her hand.

"Should I be flattered then?" She countered. She never lost contact of his mesmerizing hazel eyes.

'And here we go again my heart. Please, be still.' Bulong ng isip niya habang nagpapakalunod na sa pagtitig sa mata ni Anton. She promised to herself, this would be the last. Hahayaan niya muna ang sarili to enjoy his presence just for the night. She never, in her wildest imagination, thought this could still happen because it was so impossible.

"It's a compliment, but I would rather instill in your mind that we belong together. Let me in in your life, Rebecca. Don't be scared to take the risk with me because I'm promising you now, we will be alright together." He said it and she saw the sincerity in his eyes.

Parang timang naman siya na lumulutang ang isip at damdamin. He always surprised her with the flattering words. Hindi niya iyon inaasahan. She couldn't still the wild beating of her heart. She was speechless still.

"I've never been in love before and I can't figure out what I really feel for you. I won't give you false hope about my intention in this marriage I'm offering. But believe me, you are the only woman who made me feel different emotions...and I missed you like hell. Pabalik-balik ako dito ng Pilipinas, not only for my business, but I also want to see you. So far, ikaw lang and naiisip kung pwede kong makasama and fitted to be my wife. I'm comfortable being with you." He continued talking na mas lalo yatang nagpatameme sa kanya.

Pero bakit ba kahit anong tamis ng mga salita mula rito ay hindi siya tuluyang nagging masaya. She was a bit hurt. She wasn't really flattered being his number one prospect to be his wife or bride. It sounded so cold. Okay, modern time na nga but she still believed that the main foundation of marriage is love and respect. She was stupid to hope for him to say about loving her. At bigla niyang naalala ang malakas na ugong sa workplace na may unawaan na daw ito at ang boss nila.

"But it's already known in the whole site that you are exclusively dating our GM (general manager)! Maybe, the two of you are already having a mutual understanding. So spare me of your sugarcoated words, Antonio Luis." She blurted out. Huli na nang marealize niyang parang nanunumbat pa ang pagkasabi niya. She really sounded jealous and irritated. Suddenly, she felt awkward and embarrassed.

She saw a triumphant smile forming on his face. She was becoming more agitated with that. Hindi talaga siya nag-iisip ng tama pagkaharap na niya ito. Lalo na at hawak nito ang kamay niya. She couldn't think sanely.

"A while ago, you sounded like a jealous girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, sweetheart, but I like it." He said while holding her hand still and worst was he transferred beside her. Umupo ito sa tabi niya.
