As I have started another book recently (which you should definitely check out - it's a marvel x supernatural crossover) I am going to start wrapping up this story. I'll probably write until Chapter 30 and see what it looks like from there. I might even leave the door open for a second book, who knows?

Fin watched Jen be wheeled off down the hall to another ward and quickly pulled out his phone. "Nick?"

Nick had just exited his apartment and was getting in his car to make his way back to the hospital. "Hey Fin, everything okay?"

"Nah not really. Jen, the nurse, she just turned up at the hospital looking like she's just done 12 rounds with Mayweather."

"Jesus, Is she okay? What happened? Where's Liv?" Nick asked worriedly.

"She will be, she's in the best place. That last question is the big issue though." Fin was preparing himself for the explanation.

"Go on." Nick pushed.

"The Brits ambushed them in Liv's car, took them to some industrial place across town. They roughed Jen up and told her to deliver a message to Amanda. If Amanda meets them at the address they'll let Liv go."

"Shit... Please tell me someone has tabs on Amanda?" Nick sounded distraught.

"She doesn't know, Jen came straight to me. I'll have uniforms guard her door while we're out. Jen says she doesn't know the address but she left her pager hidden in the car."

"That should give us a rough location - there aren't that many industrial sites on the other side of town. I'll head over that way first, see if I can find her car while we wait for tracking." Nick said, the sound of his car door being slammed was evident in the background.

"Okay sounds good. I'll get the info from the front desk, call in the pager number and meet you. Keep me updated."

"Will do." Nick finished, ending the call.

Liv had been alone with Max for almost 20 minutes now, but to her surprise he hadn't tried anything. Literally. He had been stood in the same position he had when Darren had closed the door, the same grin still plastered on his face. She had maintained eye contact the entire time, the only time either of them faltered was to blink.

"What're we doing, honestly?" Liv finally said, breaking the silence.

Max didn't move, instead his smile grew wider with added menace.

She let out a small scoff and let her head rest against the was behind her as she rolled her eyes. She was hopeful that Jen had enough sense to tell one of the guys and not Amanda, there was no way that her coming here would end well. They both remained in the same position for a further five minutes before Liv could hear the thudding of footsteps outside the room, most likely Darren returning up the stairs.

She felt an intensity in the silence, for the low buzzing that she hadn't really noticed had stopped. She realised that this must be Darren cutting the electricity to the door and sure enough, it was his face she was met with when the door swung open.

"Alright." He gave Liv a sarcastic grin before shutting the door and moving to stand next to Max, who still hadn't budged. "It's alright now Max, I'll take it from here." He patted the larger man on the shoulder, signalling for him to stand down.
