Notes and vows (Nico Hulkenberg)

Hey everyone, it took a little longer than I had anticipated, but I have to write three reports on movies: 'the greatest showman', 'a street cat named Bob' and 'Cars 3' and it is taking me forever...

But anyway Sissi_Styles here is your one shot, I hope you like it!

You were woken by a wet tongue on your nose and cheek. When you opened your eyes your dog, a little Jack Russel was held next to your face by your younger sister, y/y/s. You laughed as it was something you always used to do to her.

"Good morning bride." She chuckled. With her sixteen years of life experience, she was quite a bit younger than you were.

"Good morning bridesmaid." You sat up straight and petted y/d. "I can't believe I am getting married today..." You said, tears already burning in your eyes. "For such a long time I have looked forward to my wedding, and now it is finally the day!" Your older sister came into the room. She was one and a half years older and she loved to boss you around.

"Come on, get your lazy ass out of bed. You wanted to get as much sleep as you could, but now we are on a tight schedule." You shook your head with a smile on your face and stood up before y/o/s dragged you downstairs. Your breakfast was already on the dinner table so you could quickly eat that while someone started on your hair.

"Y/n," Your mother said. "I found this on the fridge..." She gave you a note and you immediately recognised Nico's handwriting.

'Have a proper breakfast,m you need to be at your best the whole day. x'

You smiled and placed the note on the table.

"Y/y/s, could you maybe look for more of these notes?"

"Why do you think there are more?" You laughed.

"Because I know my fiance, plus he knows me pretty well too." Y/y/s chuckled and started to look for more as you finished your breakfast and talked to your mother and y/o/s while a hairdresser was busy with your hair. You were in the apartment you shared with Nico in Monaco while he was staying at one of his mates' place. Soon y/y/s came back with three more notes.

'Don't forget to take your hayfever meds, I know you are going to cry anyway, but let's keep the crying and especially the sneezing to a minimum ;p'

'I can't wait to see you in your dress tomorrow Liebe.'

'Just a little present to start off this already perfect day.'

You frowned and y/y/s gave you a little, gift-wrapped box. You opened it to see a necklace with two rings with yours and Nico's name on them. Tears were brimming in your eyes and you took the necklace out.

"It is beautiful..." Y/o/s breathed and you nodded. It was. The hairdresser was done with your hair in the meantime and y/o/s took the necklace to put it around your neck.

"It is gorgeous darling." Your mother says and you smile. "Come on, let's go and put your dress on." You stand up and walk up the stairs followed by your mother and two sisters. You carefully take your dress and you get undressed before getting into the wedding gown.

"Nico is going to faint when he sees you." Y/y/s smirked as you blushed.

"I will get your shoes." Your mother said and you knew she needed to keep herself from crying and that was why she wanted to walk away.

"Mom..." You said. "It is okay to cry, I am going to cry, Nico is going to cry, dad is going to cry... Where is he?" It suddenly popped into your thoughts that your father was nowhere to be found, the entire time already.

"He went for a short drive, but he is just waiting until you are done and we are going to the church so he has an excuse to cry." You chuckled. "And I know it is okay, I just don't want to ruin my make up." Your mother gave you a kiss on the cheek, but you pulled her in for a hug.

"I love you, mom." You whispered.

"I love you too darling."

Finally, your father reappeared, his eyes a bit red.

"Hey dad." You smiled at him. Your sisters had just finished your makeup and you were now fully ready to go.

"You look beautiful princess." He looked at you and started to tear up. "My little girl is all grown up and about to get married, I can't believe it quite yet." You smiled and wiped a tear from his cheek.

"I'll always be your little girl dad, don't forget."

"Don't you dare start crying y/n!" Y/s/n said. "We don't have time to do it all over again. You chuckled and blinked the tears away.

"Shall we go?" Your dad asked and you nodded. You took his hand and walked after him towards the car. You got in and your parents made sure your dress wouldn't wrinkle. Her father got behind the wheel and your mother and sisters got on the back seats. "Nico made me give this to you." Your father gave you a white envelope and you opened it.

'Hi there my beautiful soon to be wife,

You are now sitting in the car (if your father did what I asked him;p) your dress on, your hair styled and your makeup is done.

Just a little longer before I will see you walk down the isle, before I can see you in that dress.

I just wanted to tell you one last time how happy I am to be able to call you my wife by the end of the day.

How much I love you.

You blinked and blinked, trying not to cry, but it was of no use. Some tears found their way down your cheeks. He was a dork, but one you would just have to love.

"He really loves you y/n, and I am glad he is the one that you have fallen in love with." You looked at your dad.

"I really love him." Your father started the car and luckily the drive wasn't very long and soon you were standing in the hall of the church. On the other side of the aisle, Nico was waiting, looking handsome in his suit. The doors opened and your sisters and walked in first with your mother. When they were in front of the church you and your father walked down the aisle, arms hooked.

You looked at Nico and a huge smile formed on your face and before you know it is time for the vows. You are the one to start as you look at Nico, the smile still on your face.

"I promise to encourage your compassion,
Because that is what makes you unique and wonderful.
I promise to nurture your dreams,
Because through them your soul shines.
I promise to help shoulder our challenges,
For there is nothing we cannot face if we stand together.
I promise to be your partner in all things,
By working with you as a part of the whole.
Lastly, I promise you perfect love and perfect trust,
For one lifetime with you could never be enough."

Nico tears up and you feel the tears brimming in your eyes especially when he starts his vow.

"I take you to be my partner for life,
I promise above all else to live in truth with you
And to communicate fully and fearlessly,
I give you my hand and my heart
As a sanctuary of warmth and peace
And pledge my love, devotion, faith and honour
As I join my life to yours."

You had decided that you would finish together, with one last part:

"On this day,
I give you my heart,
My promise,
That I will walk with you,
Hand in hand,
Wherever our journey leads us,
Living, learning, loving,
Together,
Forever."

The two of you place the ring on each other's fingers and you burst out in tears, but still, the smile doesn't leave your face.

"You may kiss the bride." Nico doesn't let anyone tell him twice as he crashes your lips together and you are just lost, lost in the embrace, the kiss, the fact he is now your husband.

"I love you." He whispers, his forehead resting against yours.

"I love you too..." You whisper back.
