"Okay, here we go. Focus. Speed. I am speed."Tim, your best friend laughed.

"You are absolutely crazy."

"It's a line from Cars, let me be!" You replied, also laughing. "But fine, I'll be normal from now on." You shrugged your shoulders at your main rival.

"Please don't, it will be boring without your not normal self." The glisten in your eyes said enough to Tim. "I stroked your ego again, stupid idea." You laughed and then walked out of the trailer to your bike. Tim had walked up to your trailer to wish you good luck, he had knocked on your door and you had decided upon playing with him.

"Ready for the race?" You spun around on your heels to look at your boyfriend who had a smug smile on his face. "Or do you need a little motivation?" I laugh, knowing fully what Lando is referring to.

"Well, the thing is, I'm fully prepared for the race, but a little motivation is never out of place." I grin and Lando laughs.

"I think you very well know what I'm talking about..."

"Do I?" Lando steps closer, placing his arms around me.

"I think you do." He whispers in my ear, making goosebumps rise all over my arms. Little Lando is not that innocent folks, he is everything except for innocent, but I love it so I'm not complaining.

"There he is, of course, he is with his girl." Some of Lando's friends had joined him to accompany him to cheer on his girl. "Hey Y/n. You break a leg out there." You started laughing.

"I'd prefer not to break a leg, but sure, I'll do my best." You winked and took your helmet and placed it over your head. "Well, I'll see you guys after the race." Your team helped you get ready for the start of the race and before you knew it you were flying across the track on your bike. The entire race you had been trying to catch the guys in front but for some reason, you just didn't have the speed to fully catch up and overtake him. In a final attempt, you launched yourself beside the person ahead, but you lost grip and was sent flying over the steering wheel of your bike. It knocked the air out of your lungs and for a moment you panicked. But when you regained your breath, you carefully got up, making sure you wouldn't get lightheaded and faint.

The marshalls had already taken care of your bike and were standing beside you now. They had learned not to come too close, the last time marshalls had tried to do so they had nearly been killed by you in a response to having the need for a little space after a crash.

"Are you okay?" They asked you and you nodded your head. All you wanted now was space and to scream really loud. You stomped towards your trailer, but you were stopped by Lando, who curled his arm around your waist.

"Are you okay?" He asked but you just gave him a long cold stare. You had just quite literally thrown yourself out of the title contention. All you had to do was coming in in a decent place, but instead, you crashed out. You walked away from him and his friends and slammed the door to your trailer shut.

Lando wanted to go after you but he knew the feeling all too well. You wanted nothing more but to win. He would give you a little space before going after you again. You, however, wanted nothing more but to have Lando close, even though you just gave another sign to him. You waited in your trailer hoping for the Brit just to walk through the door, but it didn't happen. Even though it was totally unfair, it angered you even more. So he was more invested in his friends and the race than he was in you, you could have been hurt.

When it was time for you to do some interviews, you finally got out again, still sulking about the fact you could forget about the championship and your own boyfriend wouldn't even show up to make sure you were okay. So in that mood, you also gave your interviews and in the end, you figured you had scared the young interviewer - who had introduced herself earlier that weekend to you as an intern who was there to learn how things go at a big event like that, away for life. You couldn't care any less though, you were pitying yourself and you thought you had every right to do so.

That was when Lando realised you weren't going to calm down any more than you already had if you had calmed down at all.

"Y/n, don't you think you are overreacting?" He knew you were alright, hence he didn't even think to ask you that first. If you had been unwell, you wouldn't be on a stampede this big.

"Hi babe, how are you, I hope you didn't hurt yourself in that crash. I'm sorry you are no longer a title contender. Thank you, Lando, that means the world to me." You hissed and Lando laughed making you even angrier.

"And you have the guts to tell me I'm bad when I crash out of a race." Your raised eyebrows encouraged Lando to keep talking as he knew you were on the point where you were seconds away from killing him. "Look, I know you wanted to win the title, you are a racer, that's normal, but don't you think you are overreacting?"

"Actually, no."

"Well, the correct answer is yes, you are making a fuss out of what is very little. Of course, you get to be angry at yourself, but you are blaming others for what was fully your fault. And for what goes for me, I thought it was best to just leave you for a little to calm down. I'm sorry, I was wrong. Next time I'll risk my life and come to you."

"I- uh-" You stuttered, knowing fully well Lando was right. "Damn you." Lando laughed and pulled you close to his chest and kissed you tenderly.

"I love you." You smiled brightly. Only Lando could do that. He was the only one who could get you out of that hole you always dug for yourself whenever things wouldn't go your way. He was the one that made sure you actually got some friends yourself because you were no longer that bitch that would get angry at anything that didn't go her way and then scream at everybody in her way.

He got her to let her guard down, he was the one who made sure she wouldn't build it back up and he was the only one who would ever be able to do so.

"You still have to give me my motivation though." You pulled back ever so slightly and grinned at Lando. "I can lock the door of my trailer so no one can come in, they won't miss me anyway or they will be too scared to even think of coming to get me." Lando laughed.

"Well what are we waiting for then?"
