Staring at the field and watches her teammates play Beca had the time out for practicing so hard. She was sat on a bench where all their belongings were gathered. She had her senses wandering off with a certain redhead.
"Hey what's wrong with Chloe?", a familiar voice went up to sit beside her and the brunette furrowed her eyebrows at her question.
"What do you mean?", she asked and looked at the girl as she drank her water bottle.
"She seemed so off today in the class we have together. Barely talked, red puffy eyes", she stated and wiped the sweat out her face. "I mean she's always quiet in class just that I noticed she was a lot worse today", she said and looked at Beca.
"Why are you asking me Stacie?", she asks and fixed her glasses.
"Ever since she got here the only person she had actually talked to was you", she turned her body towards the smaller girl and sat at the bench like riding a horse. "Didn't you notice?", she asked.
"No, actually no", she shakes her head. "Yes we talk and I try to keep the conversation somehow but then I feel like she has these walls around her that I couldn't just get in", Stacie looked at her intently.
"Maybe you should check up on her. I actually know how good of a friend you are", she smiled genuinely. "I mean even if you get hurt, you still stuck up for them", Beca was rather shy at her words and laughed softly. "I'm just glad your face has gotten a lot better from yesterday", she said.
"Yeah well Aubrey is still glaring at me right now probably pissing her off with us talking", she said looking at the blonde girl. "But that dinner yesterday wasn't actually necessary Conrad", she rolled her eyes playfully.
"I owe you a lot.", she said awkwardly. "Like a lot more than dinner", she said with somehow a sad tone remembering the events with Aubrey and Beca yesterday.
"Now don't cry on me Stace", she playfully pushed the girl lightly and earned a soft laugh. "Probably be in the principal office sooner or later after what I did to Calamity yesterday. That chin be bruising way worse than mine", she said with a chuckle.
"What? Are you serious?", she asked rather worried with the girl. What mess did she get Beca into.
"Don't worry about it. I've never been in the office for trouble before so they'd go easy", she stated and shrugged "And like who would believe that this four eyed girl who's utterly weak can possibly do that to a strong girl like her", she said dramatically making the girl laugh once again.
Not even noticing two pair of eyes staring at them with jealousy and piss. "Thanks Beca you're really fun when people would get to know you better", she stated and stood up from her seat. "I actually wished you found me in that bathroom with those girls way back freshman year", Beca was flattered at what she said, she was never really good at making friends and with Stacie letting her feel actually important, it was a new territory.
"Let's kick our enemies' asses on the field this weekend Mitchell. Counting on your skill that beat me up on try outs", she winked and walked away. Beca laugh at the girl and spotted a red flag from the outside field.
Then Beca remembered her favorite redhead. She always knew something was up with her and secrets she always kept to herself. Chloe already had opened her up like a book and got to her personal space yet the brunette couldn't seem to get to her high walls.
She always notice how the girl's voice was always sleepy, she often doze off to class and her eyes, it was as if reddish at some point, like she'd been crying and manage to look like she wasn't.
Although spite of those hiding, when twice they had some time alone in the bathroom Beca had time to scan her face whenever Chloe protectively cleans up her wound. That bathroom.
