Frank Iero: the definition of perfection; he was the straight A student that could make even the hardest of subjects look easy.
He could easily make anyone question their sexuality. Even the straightest of jocks were nervous around the punk-rock brainiac, and yet he was absolutely oblivious to all of the attention he was receiving.
The one problem, though, is the fact that the school reject, Gerard Way, had the world's biggest crush on the raven-haired guitarist, and he knew that the boy could never find out without the risk of ruining Frank's popularity streak.
Not to mention the fact that they couldn't date, anyway.
So long as Gerard was failing his classes, his parents forbid him from dating any girls (they were completely oblivious to their son's raging homosexuality, and he aimed to keep it that way).
And so, that's how Gerard Arthur Way had gathered the courage to ask the boy for private tutoring after school, in the silent comfort of the music room.
Gerard shuffled his feet around, gently tapping on Frank's shoulder as he turned around to attend to the visitor.
"H-hey, uh, Frank. I understand you'll be late to music practice, b-but I, uh, was wondering if you could give me pri- private tutoring," Gerard stuttered, "in-in geometry and chemistry."Your stupid stutter ruins everything. Frank probably hates you by now, he thought, praying that Frank couldn't see his face as it contorted in pain.
Frank, however, thought otherwise, as he stared at the black-haired beauty in fascination. How far would he have to go to break this boy?
"Uh, F-Frank?" Gerard looked concerned, and almost... hurt, as if he'd been slapped in the face.
Snap out of it, Iero!
"Hm? Oh yeah, shit, sorry, your face, it, uh..."
Nice way of words, asshole, Frank groaned internally.
Gerard leaned against the wall, trying to act like he wasn't hurt.
"M-my face what, Frank?"
Shit shit shit.
The boy leaned in towards Gerard's ear as confidently as possible, gently brushing back a strand of greasy black hair.
"Your face... It's too beautiful, Way. I lost my train of thought," he whispered lowly into his ear, smirking to himself as the boy short circuited completely. At this rate, Frank would be late to band practice, but he couldn't care less about instruments as Gerard turned into a bright red mess.
"I, um, I-I- no, you're the beautiful one-"
Frank smiled, gently brushing his lips against the boy's lobe.
"Hush, baby, don't worry. We'll schedule a date for tomorrow, 7:00 on the dot, and here's my number. Don't be late, and I'll tutor you afterwards," he cooed, giving Gerard a small peck on the cheek, before strolling out of the room like nothing had ever happened.
"Did he fluster you?" Someone sighed comically from the doorway, along with another more-familiar voice chuckling gently. Gerard turned around to see Ray Toro, the school drummer, with his arm wrapped around his brother, Mikey.
"Mikey!" he squealed happily, launching towards his brother in a hug (he completely shoved Ray away. No one touches his little brother. No one.).
"We saw each other this morning, calm down, calm down!" Mikey laughed happily, pulling his brother from around his waist.
Ray cleared his throat, gently elbowing the younger brother in his side.
"Oh, r-right. G-Gee, before we talk about Frank, we have something we need to tell you," he squeaked, now holding tightly onto Ray's hand.
"Gerard," Ray began carefully, "I'm going to be dating your brother. I know you're skeptical about his safety, but we've been seeing each other for a few months, and, well, we knew it wouldn't be fair to make it public until we told you."
"W-wow, Mikes," Gerard paused. "If he truly makes you happy, and he'll keep you safe-" he glared at Ray (and his stupid, brown 'fro) warningly- "then I g-guess I'm okay with it."
"You won't regret it, Gerard," Mikey bumbled happily, hugging his brother once again.
The three boys finally decided to sit down on the empty risers in the room, with no distance separating Ray and Mikey. After a few minutes of silence, Gerard decided to break the silence.
"So, you started to talk about Frank flustering me?"
Just thinking about the boy made him dizzy; even after the surprise with Mikey, he couldn't keep the smooth- talking punk out of his mind.
"Oh, right! Yeah, I forgot. So Frank Iero-" Ray paused to help the beanie-clad brother remember him- "has always been popular, right? Even if he doesn't acknowledge it, more than half of the school wants a piece of him."
Gerard nodded.
"Well, the reason he's never willing to date- or even talk in that matter, to anyone- isn't because he isn't interested. It's simply because of his childhood of abuse. By flustering you, he's trying to scare you away so you won't get closer to him than necessary. When you didn't deny him, though, he found someone he could trust, which is why he was so straightforward," Ray finished, pleased with himself for not stumbling over his words once.
"So- so he trusts me?"
The curly-haired man grinned happily (he did that way too much, in Gerard's opinion) and nodded.
"D-Do you think it'd be okay if- if I went on the date? Mikey can vouch for me w-when I- I say I love... love h-him," Gerard stuttered, secretly cursing his anxious habits.
"It'll be completely okay, Gerard," both Ray and his brother confirmed. "We promise."
- The day after, 6:30 pm -
"Mikey, are you sure he won't hate this?"
Gerard was completely unsure now as he looked in the mirror. Maybe his black dress suit and red tie would be too much. Maybe Frank actually hated him. Maybe-
Maybe you're pathetic.
"Gerard, please. You look amazing," he smiled at his brother, "and if he changes his mind about you, then I'll know he's insane."
"T-thanks, Mikey." They both sat back down on the brother's dark gray duvet. "You know, if Ray hurts you while I'm gone-"
"Ge-rard!" he groaned.
"I know, I know! Just wear protection, and know that the lube is by my-"
A sharp punch hit his side, although it was obvious Mikey was amused too from the way he laughed, disgusted.
"Oh, by the way, knock if you bring him in. Chances are we'll be on the couch-"
"MICHAEL JAMES WAY! Before you gross me out any further, let's head out, it's 6:48," Gerard groaned, attempting to hide his bright red face.
-
Gerard pulled into the flashing lights of the overpriced restaurant Frank had messaged him at exactly 7:00, and his date sure had made sure to give a clear explanation on how to get there.
"Gerard, I think that's him. Now, go get you some- but remember, knock!" Mikey yelled as Gerard slammed the door, rushing over to the absolutely stunning boy at the entrance.
"Well, darling, are you ready?"
Absolutely not.
"As ready as I'll ever be," Gerard grinned and gingerly grabbed Frank's hand, absolutely dizzy as they entered the restaurant.
