Loneliness truly adds beauty to life. It puts a special flare on sunsets as the colours collide, intertwining millions of colours into one. It makes night air smell better as it fills your lungs. Although seeing is believing, sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't see. You can't see the way a person affects you, but you can feel it. The same way you can feel love, yet you can't touch it. The most beautiful things in the world can't be touched, they have to be felt by the heart.
Grayson hasn't left my room in four days. He's been there for me every single day. As day turns into night, and night turns to day. As I lay awake at 2 am, my mind sets sail and drift of to unexplained questions still lingering in my mind. Why is he here? What lead him here? My mind flickers through a countless number of questions, creating a deep ocean of "what ifs" in the back of my mind. I snap out of it, as the warmth of his touch sends lightning through my spine, making me forget all the unanswered questions.
"Are you okay?" he stutters
I open my eyes, glancing at the silhouette of a boy reflected in the light of the moon, as the blurriness of my tired eyes dissolve. I make out a half tired smile, before carefully standing up from my bed, with his hand supporting my back. I walk over to the window of my room, glancing at the beautiful dark, star-filled canvas.
"Isn't it beautiful?" I gasp, leaning my face close to the window, as the damp from my breath condense, creating small drops of water down the window. I feel his presence as he leans over to the window, before looking at me.
"It truly is" he chuckles, still looking at me, before glancing out on the open sky.
"Darkness used to scare me" he explains to me, making me wonder if the darkness in me will scare him too.
"I think to fondly of the stars for the darkness to ever scare me"
