"grayson where are we going?"

"we're almost there, do NOT open your eyes"

he takes my hand, leading me up a long staircase. I feel like I've walked here before. my eyes are shut, yet my legs knows exactly what they're doing. I unlock my hand from grayson's, as I touch the walls surrounding us. it's like dancing. you can take a break. for months, even years, yet, your body will know how to move. remember the patterns. just as I remember the unsteady railing approaching us. grayson obviously doesn't, and stumbles as the railing trembles at the weight of his body.

"stupid old staircase"

I chuckle to myself, what an idiot. my idiot, fortunately.

"okay open them"

I turn to face grayson, who has the biggest, brightest smile on his face. in situations like these, I'm not really one to lie. I knew exactly where we were before I opened my eyes, and that's a fact. yet, as I opened my eyes, nothing was as I expected it to be. the roof of my apartment was missing and all my belongings were gone.

"wha- what happened to all my stuff?!"

"I had them stored, don't worry about it"

"and the roof!?"

"laura, the building was scheduled to be demolished"

"so they let you do all this?"

grayson reaches out for my hand.

"can you just relax and enjoy the moment?"

we're inches apart, and I can feel my breath hitch as my heart rate speeds up.

don't fall for him.

moonlight breaks through the hole in the roof, as the sun slips beneath the horizon. I could talk about the moon for days. how it shines beautifully among radiant stars.. but that's the thing; beauty. the moon is filled with imperfections, craters, yet no one grows tired of them. it has a dark side, like all things does. it's surrounded with darkness. only to be companied by long lost stars. he was the moon on earth. no matter how hard you try, you can't grow tired of him. his eyes are galaxies i long to explore.

"so princess, one month"

grayson's p.o.v

everything beautiful dies in autumn, yet, it's the prettiest season. this is autumn, and she is the sacrifice of beauty.

laura's p.o.v

I take a step closer towards him, before leaping into his arms.

"thank you"

"thank you for what?" he answers, still smiling.

"thank you for making the past two months the best months of my life, and for being here for me during my very last.."

our faces are inches apart now, and his hazel brown eyes makes my heart skip a beat.

"i have one more surprise for you"

"oh?"

grayson reaches for a folded note in his pocket

"I found this while cleaning out your stuff..and"

"what is it!?"

"relax princess, I'm getting to that"

i blush and look out at the gazing stars surrounding us.

"it's a bucket-list. i found it in your memory box from the year of your diagnosis. there's 18 things on this list. one thing for each year of your life. we're going to do all of them in one month"

I hold my breath as my eyes begins to tear up. he's making it so goddamn hard for me not to fall in love with him.

grayson's p.o.v

one month is all we have left. thirty-one days. i'm going to make these thirty-one days the most memorable yet, for the both of us. something she can remember me by, and something for me to remember her. you know how the moon only glows because its reflecting off of the sun? well, she's my sun. and I can't shine without her.
