"come on, lets go"

"you know I can't leave the hospital" I sigh, as my smile fades away.

People can be so quiet about their pain. You almost forget that they're hurting.

"who said we had to leave the hospital?" he answers, taking my hand, guiding me to the staircase leading up to the roof.

"grayson..I- I can't"

I hadn't been up there since the day I jumped. I'm scared of my own mind. I truly am. What will I do, when I'm once again faced with the thirty-meter drop? I wish I could unbreak the broken. It's so hard to follow your heart, when your heart is fragile glass, broken into a million pieces.

"I have a surprise for you. You can do this. I know you can".

I close my eyes before taking a deep breath, letting my lungs fill with air, as I let out a nervous "okay".

Grayson opens the door to the roof, revealing a beautiful view of skyscrapers, cast in a black shadow as the sun begins to rise from behind the horizon, once again sending the sky into an explosion of colours.

I'm never really in the mood for surprises, I never seem to be these days. But this left me speechless, unable to take in the glorious colours I'm faced with.

I run over to the edge of the building, as the wind sends my hair in all possible directions. The dazzling stars begins to fade from the canvas, as the sun makes its way over the horizon, making room for shades of crimson. I turn around to see grayson holding a piece of paper in his hands, folded countless of times.

"I got you this" he stutters nervously, unfolding the paper and placing it in my hands.

grayson's p.o.v

she looks up at me with dazzling eyes companied by a bright smile, as the sun rays hugs her face. happiness looks good on her.

I never saw stars as anything else but a luminous point in the night sky, but after hearing her talk about nature, everything changed. She has a way with words that completely mesmerises me. If you love nature, you will find beauty in everything, and so she does. If you look deeply into nature, you will understand everything better. You will understand why some of your darkest times brings some of the brightest moments. There would be no sunsets so send the sky into flames without the shift from day to night. No falling stars to send sparks through the night sky. Just a cotton blue sky with heavy clouds.

her heart is pure, it really is. It's just been broken a lot.
