One of my favorite songs was Africa by Toto. The song I listened to before I jumped off a balcony. Ok. ALMOST jumped.

It was New Year's Eve and Randy was out drinking with friends so I had no one to talk to. Onalee messaged me. Out of the blue wanting to talk. My heart, I felt as it was leaping out of its chest and into the hot tub downstairs. It was aching, and hurting. I curled into the ball on the bed with my knees to my chest as I cry into the pillow.
I had brought my razor on my trip so I cut my wrist, quickly patching it with a bandaid. "Ok Brittany. Your ok. Your bleeding your still alive. For now." I said to myself in the mirror as I got yet another text from Onalee. 'Please be ok Brittany. Please hear me out.' I sat down on the bed pulling a hoodie out of my suitcase that I always said felt like her wrapping her arms around me, giving m a warm hug.
She told me how she was afraid of her mother, that was why she left. I understood but I wish she was honest with me. I tried to jump off the balcony when strong arms spun me around and shoved me into the hotel room - my cousin. She slapped me and said "don't you ever think about doing that again you hear me?!? How would your father and mother feel?" I agreed never to do it again and she left. Never saw her the rest of the night and Sofia called me."Heard you tried taking a nose dive from the top floor." Rest of the day was shit. I missed Onalee still but didn't ever dare tell her, she had a new man on her life and I wanted her to be happy.
