The next day, while everyone was out doing stuff, it was just Luhan, Kai, and I. I didn't really have anything eventful to do so I just decided to clean a bit. Kai had left to do something but he was only going close by the dorm and Luhan was wandering around, looking lost, bored, or nervous.
"What's up hyung?" I asked him after he had came into the living room for the seventh time in the past half hour.
"Eo? Oh, nothing, just thinking," he shook his head, rotating the Rubik's cube in his hand anxiously.
"Jinjjah? I'll listen to whatever it is," I stood up straight from my previous crouching position.
"Is it alright?"
"Neh," I nodded. Luhan sat down on the couch so I sat down next to him, but not too close because guys don't do that. I noticed. Cookie points!
"Jihyun. I was just thinking, maybe-"
*DING DONG* the bell rung.
"I'll get it," I stood up and quickly went to answer the door. When I opened it, Kai stood there with a sheepish smile.
"I forgot my key," he told me awkwardly as he came in. He took his key off the rack and turned to me. "You know Jihyun, answering the door like that isn't very safe. I could have been a sasaeng."
"Miahn, I'll be more careful," I bowed my head.
"It's fine. Hyung doesn't want you to get hurt," he pat my head and then left. When I went back into the living room, Luhan wasn't there anymore so I moved on to clean one of the bathrooms. Boy idol dorm bathrooms, I don't ever want to clean one again. It wasn't dirty, but I refuse to touch anything someones body has recently been in or on, depending on what it was.
"Jihyun!" Luhan called me when I came out of the bathroom. I went around to lots of rooms, trying to find him since everyone left their doors open.
"Neh hyung?" I said, peeking my head into the doorway when I finally found him. He was sitting on his bed and motioned for me to come in.
"Jihyun, can you play with me?" he said so fast I couldn't tell what he was saying.
"Miahnhae, hyung. One more time," I asked.
"Will you play with me?" he asked normally now.
"Araso. What do you want to play?"
"Oh, um. I haven't thought about that yet," he looked down at his Rubik's cube and started rotating it anxiously again.
"Hyung? What's wrong? You seem to be either upset or nervous about something?"
"Well, I was thinking that you and I haven't really talked much together or anything."
"Ah, I see. Yeah, things have been coming up each time you try to do anything with me. Lets just do something you like to do," I gave him a smile to make him happy.
"I like to play with Rubik's cubes," he held up an unsolved one.
"Araso," I nodded slowly. I'm not able to solve these but I'll try for Luhan. I don't like that sad face he gave me.
He pat the spot next to him on his bed and I gingerly sat down. I'm nervous. Even though I'm being a guy and he thinks I'm a guy, I'm still a girl. And we're alone in his bedroom. And we're the only ones in the house. The only guys bed I've ever been on was Sehun's and even that was nerve racking for me.
"Jihyun, twist the top row to the left twice," Luhan whispered to me. I looked up at him and he gave me a smile and nodded at the cube. I did as I was told and then continued on from there. We just kind of sat there for a while quietly and tried to solve the cubes. I could tell that Luhan was focused on mine more than his because he would have solved it by now.
I think he can tell I'm not able to solve this on my own. And because he's watching me, I feel even more nervous and feel like I'm making mistakes. Idol's these days. Just watching people struggle and not knowing that the person is struggling because of them. Aish. Life is so difficult.
Luhan solved his really fast after I thought about that and then put it on his pillow before turning to face me. "Do you need help, Jihyun?"
"Ah, ani. I don't want to be a burden," I shook my head and tried to focus. Do you know how hard it is to concentrate when you have a Luhan sitting right there watching everything you do? It's exceedingly difficult!
"Are you sure?"
"Neh," I looked to him and nodded before continuing. It was maybe five minutes of no progress before I started feeling awkward. Not even one side was done. I slowly turned and looked at Luhan.
"You have to ask," he smiled smugly. You little-
"Hyung? Will you help me?" I asked shyly.
"Neh, because you did it so cutely," he scooted closer to me and guided my hands, which wouldn't have been a problem if I was a girl, but because I'm supposed to be a boy now, I was confused.
Do boys usually do things like this to each other? Ani, I don't think so. Then why is Luhan doing it to me? Doesn't he think I'm a boy too? What's going on? How should I react to this?
"Oh! What do we have here?!" Kai's voice filtered through the room. We both jumped and looked to the doorway to see Kai peeking in with a devious grin on his face.
"Kai!"
"Hyung!"
"What's with those reactions? I'm just playing," he came in laughing.
"Oh," I said. Luhan shifted away from me and pulled his legs up under him.
"So, Sehun would be mad at you if he found out hyung," Kai teased Luhan.
"And? I'm not scared," Luhan shrugged.
"Anyways, I'm glad you two are finally able to spend time together. Intimately," Kai continued, looking at me this time.
"Yah," I puffed up my cheeks.
"Remember, even if he looks like one, Jihyun isn't a girl," Kai said to Luhan. Actually, I am. But hopefully you'll never know that. "Araso, carry on." Kai left the room and we just sat there silently until we heard the door open and close.
"He doesn't have to know," Luhan shook his head.
"Know what?!" I asked. About my secret?! Do you know?!
"That I took the cube I bought for him for you to solve. We'll just put it back later," he shrugged carelessly.
"Oh," I sighed.
"I don't think he would have been upset over it. No need to feel relieved."
"Hehe, right. Help? Without cuddling with me?"
"Cuddling? Why, this dongsaeng!" Luhan ruffled my hair and then guide my hands again but without wrapping around me. "Your hands are so small."
"I know."
"And soft."
"I know."
"Do you ever wish you were born a girl since you look so much like one?"
"Um," I hesitated a moment to think about how I should answer, considering the fact that I really am a girl. "Not really. Every once in a while I wonder about what it would be like though," I lied.
"Oh, I see. I've never thought of it that way. I wonder now too," Luhan nodded slowly, continuing to move my hands. I was about to say something when Luhan solved the cube. "We did it!"
"Ani, you did it. I didn't really do anything," I shook my head but gave a smile anyways.
"Now we have to put it back, lets go," Luhan pulled me up and took the cube from my hand, shuffling it again as we made our way to Kai's room. Luhan put it somewhere but I wasn't really paying attention because I heard the door open and then lots of voices.
"Oh? Is everyone back now?" Luhan asked as we made our way to the living room. Everyone was filling in there, being loud and energetic as usual.
