I was in the bathroom for a few minutes during Mr. Blofis’ class. I was just about finished when I heard the door open and close. I froze waiting to hear the voice. Three people walked in and went straight to the mirrors. Through the crack in the bathroom stall, I could see three faces. Lacey, Becca, and Sabrina…
“Sabrina, you do have a plan to get Percy to go to the dance with you… right? Cause I hate to break it to you but, Annabeth is going to make it a lot harder!” Becca said to Sabrina. I saw Sabrina frown for a moment, thinking.
“No. But I’ll certainly come up with one that will make her soooo jealous! I just can’t stand her!! I mean, who does she think she is? Calling my hair bad when that mess is on her head! Haha! I’ll have her back in California in no time.” She answered back. Ha! As if I’ll let her scare me back home! Especially now that I know that she is plotting.
Lacey throws her head back and laughs. “Oh! Yeah! And it’s totally obvious that she dyed her hair blonde! That can’t possibly be natural…” Lacey added.
Really? Are they for real? Look at their hair! Their hair is the one that is obviously dyed! I couldn’t help but stifle a laugh… I made a small noise.
“Did you hear that?” I heard Sabrina ask. I held my breath. Did they know it was me? They shook their heads no. OH! Good! :)
“Let’s go, we don’t want to keep Mr. Blofis waiting.” Sabrina says.
I hear them putting their things back in their bags. Zippers are being pulled and tops are being screwed back on to makeup containers. Click clack click clack. Their heels scraped across the bathroom tile and out the door.
Finally gone!
I unlock the bathroom stall and make my way to the mirrors to wash my hands and dry them off.
After I walked into the classroom again, I sat down next to Percy, Piper, and Jason who had their noses buried deep in the book, whispering quietly in Greek. Percy looks up with his beautiful sea green eyes and smiles.
“Hey, we read three chapters without you but we didn’t think you would mind, especially because you already read it…” Percy trails off looking a bit guilty. There’s no reason for him to be though. I don’t mind at all! I read it already!
I shake my head no to let him know that it was fine to skip ahead without me and read. I flip to the third chapter in my book and listen to Piper read aloud in Greek.
I’m only half listening when I turn around to face Sabrina, who had flung a miniature paper airplane at the back of my head. She smiles innocently my way and I turn back around.
Under my desk I unfold the airplane to read what she had written. It can’t be good! I knew Sabrina wanted to prove to everybody that she was still the “Queen Bee” of this school. Fine by me! I didn’t want to be the most popular girl of the school. I came here to see my friends at camp half-blood and to work on finishing Olympus.
Jason begins reading, stumbling through the greek as he just began to learn it a year ago after transferring to Greek. Eventually Piper gets up and hands him a copy in English. He pauses for a moment, debating whether or not he should take the copy in English or if he should practice his Greek a bit more.
He takes the copy in English and starts the paragraph over.
Hey Annabeth! I just wanted you to know to
watch out for Percy! Enjoy him while you can…
cause, he’s not going to be yours for long!
Sincerely (with much hate),
Sabrina XOXO
I stare down at Sabrina’s bubbly handwriting, written in pink sharpie. But...Really? was that actually necessary? She just told me that I should be looking out for Percy! Thanks for the warning (even though I already knew about your plan) but what was she thinking? Was she purposely trying to let me know about her plans…? Whatever. I can’t dwell on this. I have way more important things to think about.
“Annabeth. Are you going to read or not?” I look up a Jason. All three of them are staring at me, and probably have been for a while. I had spaced out staring at the note from Sabrina.
“Oh! Uhhhh! Yeah!” I pick the large book up in my hands and begin reading.
Riiiiinnnnggg. Riiiiiiinnnnggg. The bell rang just as I finished reading the last paragraph of the chapter. Finally! I was just so glad this class was over. Not that it was bad, it’s just that Sabrina kept throwing paper airplanes at the back of my head. What a child.
I stood up and grabbed my pile of binders and notebooks and walked out the door. I found my next class was science after looking down at my class schedule.

“What class do you have next?” Piper appeared next to me looking down at me over my shoulder.
“Science with Mrs. Grant. Is she a good teacher?” I was just curious. I mean, we’ve all had those terrible teachers that you have no idea what they are talking about. Right? Well I sure have!
“She’s okay I guess. But… she does go kind of fast. Just tell her to slow down though. Everyone tells her that at least one time during the year.” Frank answers for her. I nod thanks and head of to the classroom after realizing that Percy was not in the same class as me. He had social studies.
Hope you enjoy!
