chapter 10- Bad desicions

I smirked and sat down in my seat. It wasn't until then when I noticed her standing there, arms crossed across her chest. She held a binder, several large notebooks, an overly stuffed pencil case, and two textbooks. Dang! What does she need all that for? It's her first day! I thought to myself. As Mrs. Grant ushered her up to the front of the classroom, allowing her to speak.

I let my eyes wander, scanning my eyes up and down. She looked extremely fit, her legs were tanned and toned, also her arms were lightly muscled. And not to mention, her thin body.

I wasn't all that surprised that Percy, Leo, Piper, Jason, Hazel, and Frank were here friends. They were all exactly like her.

This doesn't mean that I am happy about her being with them. Especially her dating Jackson. Ugh. He's thinks he's all high and mighty just because girls trail him like a shadow. I don't think he remembers that before he came here, I was that guy. And I'm determined to be that guy again.

"Mr. Tanner." I turned my gaze to Mrs. Grant, a fat finger was pointed at the desk next to me.

"You can have a seat right there Annabeth." I watched as Annabeth's small smile slipped off her face. Her stormy eyes narrowed and she scowled at me. She violently sat down in her seat. The scary thing was, she stared me dead in the eyes the whole time.

Once Annabeth had sat down Mrs. Grant began her lesson. She pulled up the doc camera and the image of the paper underneath it appeared. She began pointing at words on the page while she talked.

"Okay class, we are starting a new project today. You will be paired with a partner," She paused to let the students react.

Most shouted yes! While others began scanning the classroom for their best friend, or the smartest kid. Andrew caught me eye and mouthed partners? I was about to nod my head when she began speaking again.

"Sorry, but I am picking the partners." She smiled pleased with herself. I don't think she liked teenagers, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't sorry.

The class groaned. Mrs. Grant pulled out her attendance sheet. She began calling names out at random. Most of them rolled their eyes and just stared at their partner. I waited as she inched down the list, coming closer to my name.

She tapped a finger against her chin, "Lets see. I'll have Mr. Tanner with..." She trailed off and looked across the classroom. Her eyes stopped at Annabeth. I crossed my fingers. Please let it be Annabeth!

"Ms. Chase."

Annabeth's head rolled towards mine, her face blank. I smiled devilishly and winked. She muttered something under her breath. It sounded like "ohmygods"

We both stood up and headed to the back of the room where the lab tables were. Annabeth plopped down and opened her notebook.

It was full of notes! I thought this was her first day! How did she have all of those notes?

"Ahh, hello? Are you even listening to me?" I heard a voice in my ear. I could feel someone's gaze on me too.

I turned and looked at Annabeth. Her brows were raised in question and annoyance.

"Sorry. What was that babe?"

At first, I thought what I had said was harmless. Maybe she would like it. And if she didn't, then she would just shrug it off. At least... that's what most girls did. It wasn't until this moment when I figured out she wasn't exactly like most girls...

In that one moment, she went from being just slightly irritated and annoyed, to fuming.

Her face now close to mine, I could see the steely look in her eye. She was feisty!

"What did you just call me?!" She hissed in bewilderment. I straightened up then. What do I do? Do u answer back confident, and call her that again, or do I back down now... And save myself?

My choice may not have been the best...

I sighed and smirked (again) "I said, 'babe'..."
