victoria's point of view

'what do you wish for, vic?!' el asked me as i blew out the candles on my birthday cake

i looked at her and smiled,'can't tell ya or it won't come true!' i said and we both laughed as we ate cake

she smiled as she took another piece,'i can't believe you're 17! time flies by, honestly!'

i looked at her and smiled,'it really does! and now we're finally both the same age!!'

it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining outside and me and el were at the diner

it was great

we both ate cake in silence as el spoke up again,'and holy shit! we're going to be seniors in three months!!'

i looked at her in realisation,'holy fuck you're right! time flies by; and also in three months we've been friends for two years!!'

she smiled and laughed,'we're going to get so fat celebrating so many things the next months!' and then we both laughed some more

as we finished up the cake, the door to the diner rang, signalling someone had just walked in

me and el were sitting in one of the booths, my back facing the door

but, the look on els face made me quickly turn around to see what was going on behind me

as I turned around, my eyes locked with a familiar face,

well, familiar faces

it was the 'losers club'

my old friends from middle school

bill, eddie, stan, and richie

the last time we talked was winter break two years ago, and we didn't end on good terms

i shook my head and turned back to el, her eyes were basically hearts while she was looking over at them,

'whats up, el!?' i asked her, her eyes shifted back to me

'holy. shit.' she said and giggled at me

'what is it, el! spill it!!'

'richie got hot! like insanely hot, vic!!' she whisper-yelled

i laughed,'then go over and talk to him, el!' i said back to her

'ugh ew! i'd never want to date richie tozier!' she laughed, closing her eyes and then looking back at me

i shot her a confused glance,'then why'd you say that' i laughed

'i meant for you!'

my drink almost came shooting through my nose as she said that

'why would you say that?' i asked while laughing at her joke

'he looked at you with literal heart eyes! he so likes you!'

i laughed again,'you know how things ended last time, el. he doesn't have feelings for me, and i do not have feelings for him'

'you do realise that was two years ago, people and feelings change!!'

i laughed once more,'yeah, it's still a big fat nope'

'if you don't go over and talk to him, he will, vic' she said and gave me a wink

'what do you mean, el-' i said but was quickly interrupted by someone coming up to the table

it was richie

'hey victoria; el. um, can i talk to you outside for a moment vic?' he asked me, his hands fiddling

el was right, he did get um, more attractive

he ditched the glasses, for contacts most likely, and his hair had gotten longer so his curls stood out more

his style, kind of stayed the same, he wore a faded green hawaii button up with a plain white t-shirt underneath it and black jeans

'uh, sure; we'll be back in a second, el' i said as i followed richie out to the front of the diner

when we were alone, richie spoke up,'happy birthday' he said with a small smile

'thanks, but how'd you even remember?' I asked him as we kind of scooted closer to each other, not wanting anyone else in derry to hear our conversations

'i mean, wouldn't you remember the prettiest girl in derry's birthday?' he said, watching me attempting to hide my smile

his flirting skills had become more subtle

'awh, rich.' i whispered as we became more and more closer to each other, until we were inches apart

he had gotten taller, like a whole head taller than me,

he was also almost a year older than me, 18

'i missed you'

he whispered, our noses touching

'i missed you t-' i began to say but he interrupted me by kissing me right on the lips

at first i was shocked, but then i wrapped my arms around his neck as he put his hands on my cheek

but soon enough, we heard an awkward cough behind us, as it was el standing there

we ended the kiss, and looked at her

she pointed to the watch on her wrist,'vic, we uh, have to go'

richie slipped a piece of paper in my hand before we left

i nodded as we walked away from richie and unlocked my car

i rolled down the window right as we were about to drive away, richie still standing there

the remain of my lipstick and lipgloss on his lips that was very noticeable, but i don't think he seemed to mind it

he smiled at me, but that smile quickly turned into a smirk as i said,

'see you around town, lover boy'
